It was just about a month ago when I reported on the nominees for the 2023 Game Awards and since like keeping pace with this kind of stuff for our Pop Culture focuses, I’m back to share the recently announced winners of said awards. Now I’ve mentioned that I am not at all the biggest gamer on the Interwebs but I do go to the annual Play NYC Convention which lets me meet amazing game developers and companies. Oh yeah and let’s recap about what this even is for the other newbies out there.

Established in 2014, the shows are produced and hosted by game journalist Geoff Keighley, who worked on its predecessor, the Spike Video Game Awards, for over ten years. In addition to the awards, The Game Awards features premieres of upcoming games and new information on previously-announced titles. (c/o Wiki)

The Game Awards show seems very interesting and before we get down to the nominees for this years awards let’s take a look at what Wikipedia has to say about it.

Presenting The Drumeo “Drummer Of The Year” Awards Nominations For 2022

Readers of “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” website know full well that I like to post a wide number of award shows over there and feature both the nominations and winners list when the time comes for the big ceremony and reveals. Every so often this applies to the PiercingMetal side of the fence as well. This is usually relegated to the geekier side of things with Comic Book Industry or Anime Awards and believe me I love that stuff so say geeky with absolute pride. The website Drumeo was very new to me but when I learned that they held an awards ceremony for drummers I knew that I had to include it as one of the features here on the website. Though not active these days, I am a drummer and still get the impulse to play when time and the means allows so this was a fun one for me to include. Let’s take a look at the nominations.

Drummer Of The Year: This award will go to a drummer who checked all the boxes with recording projects, live/video events, online presence, and all-around excellence in their contributions to music.

As I am always trying to up the content game here on the PiercingMetal site, I’ve decided to add another one of those awards show rundowns to the mix. Many of you already know that we have a very strong Pop Culture section where I speak and share news about the comic book industry, film and television updates and the latest coolness in toys and collectibles. Though we don’t get to do much gaming content outside of a release announcement or trailer, I figured it would be a good idea to include the nominations and eventual winners of The Game Awards. This awards ceremony was first established in 2014 according to my Wiki research and now for the first time ever makes an appearance on the PiercingMetal website for the gamers in our readership. Let’s take a look at the nominations for this years honors.
