PiercingMetal Goes To New York Comic Con 2011: Day 2; Part 2

Welcome back to Part 2 of the Day 2 adventures at the 2011 NY Comic Con. We really saw far too many great things to toss them all into one lengthy posting, so it was better to give you subdivisions. Hey it worked for Rush right? I am sorry that was just a corny music scribe joke. Let’s get back to business with the task at hand with these great cosplayers. I only recognized the Black Cat and The Crow but they looked great.

To many people of the world, Sunday is the day of rest but there would be no such occurrence for me as this was the third and final day of the 2010 NY Comic Con and Anime Festival. The massive event started this past Friday and it was reported that something close to 80,000 people were in attendance yesterday which was Saturday. I guess that is why it was so tricky to navigate the aisles that day. With this being the final go round I was hopeful that while busy and well attended, that it would not be anywhere near as crushing as it was yesterday. Off we go.

The King Of Pop Lives On

As I wandered the Con on Day Three I caught sight of a video game being played by a number of fans. It allowed you to show off your own dance moves as if you were controlling the now deceased King Of Pop, Michael Jackson. I watched for a couple of minutes and found the graphics interesting and the game is loaded with his tunes. It’s for the Wii system which I do not have in my Metal HQ, but seems to be something many people will enjoy. Long live the King eh?

So here we are again with our extensive coverage of the happenings over at the Jacob Javits Center for the 5th Annual NY Comic Con & Anime Festival.  As we had previously mentioned in the posts related to the event, the three day affair was very simply too massive in scope to just present to you in one narrative so we broke it down into a few unique parts.  Welcome to chapter four, I thank you for returning and hope you are enjoying this stuff as much as we are. Welcome back, we are glad that you decided to join us for the continuation of the tale that we began just the other day.  So where were we?  Oh yes, we were at the Jacob Javits Center enjoying the  5th Annual NY Comic Con & Anime Festival that was taking place over the course of three days.  The event was nothing less than massive in scope and resultant of all the observations found me not only sub-dividing the coverage into day by day but even splitting those up to be sure to get it all out to you in the best fashion.    With that being said, let the adventuring continue.

The Lines Are Massive

The shot above shows the lines as they wrapped around the block.  It was a lot worse than you see and this was very early in the morning.  I didn’t take any other outside shots since I needed to figure out how to quickly get inside. So here we are again with what I am calling “Part Two” of the Day One coverage of NY Comic Con & Anime Festival 2010.  My reason for the sub-dividing of it all was based on my seeing so much and wanting to share it all with you.  If you have never attended a Comic Con like this you will really thank me for it later.  To say that I was “camera happy” would be an understatement but again there was a lot to absorb.  Let’s get down to it. Here’s a living dead girl supporting the “It Sucks To Be Dead” title.

Sexy, Smart and Dead as a Door Nail. Watch out folks she's hungry

Next up is our friend Steve Bunche, Media Ronin and Comics Expert Emeritus. I’ve known Steve a long time and ran into him again after many years on the train to work. He’s tossed some of his views into the fires of PiercingMetal content as well. Right now he was catching a break and watching the Connor/Palmiotti tables in Artists Alley.

Now let’s get back to some of the artists tables. Here is Victor Ochoa and his books “Toxicity” and “Beloved”.
