Back in 1982, Jim Henson and company brought us deep into the world of “The Dark Crystal”. It was so far away from the famous Muppets he was most famously known for but it became a bit of a cult hit and now at long last it has a continuation almost forty years later. The new series is called “The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance” and will stream exclusively on the Netflix service. Below the trailer you will find the light premise and the massive voice and puppeteer cast that it takes to bring this to life. Enjoy.

Opening: “Tomb Raider” in Theaters Everywhere (3/16/2018)

In keeping with the announcements about the big screen debuts of comic and adventure films that are coming at us, here is the one saying that “Tomb Raider” is opening today in theaters across the country. I’ve shared a couple of the trailers and it does look rather good so as an incentive here is the theatrical poster, the premise and casting.

The Premise: Tomb Raider is an upcoming 2018 American action-adventure film directed by Roar Uthaug and written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Alastair Siddons. It is primarily based on the 2013 video game of the same name by Crystal Dynamics, and will be a reboot of the Tomb Raider film series. The film tells about the first expedition of Lara Croft, in which she embarks on a perilous journey to her father’s last-known destination, hoping to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance. The Cast:
Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft
Emily Carey as 14-year old Lara
Maisy De Freitas as young Lara
Dominic West as Lord Richard Croft
Walton Goggins as Mathias Vogel
Daniel Wu as Lu Ren
Kristin Scott Thomas as Ana Miller
Nick Frost as Max
Hannah John-Kamen as Sophie
Antonio Aakeel as Nitin

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As I’ve noted in the second trailer post, I just have too many things going on right now to see this film early in its theatrical run so I might need to take a pass on it. I’d like to see it but cannot promise when so its very unlikely a movie review will be loaded onto the website. What about you though? Are you checking this one out? Let me know down in the comments below but don’t leave any spoiler stuff since that is no bueno.

We shared the first trailer for “Tomb Raider” a few months ago and I have to admit that it looked pretty good. Now with the film set to open in early March, we’ve gotten a second trailer so let’s take another look at Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft the “Tomb Raider”.
