Well hello there again my fellow Geeks, and welcome back to the continued coverage of the 2022 New York Comic Con. You’ve landed on the third installment from our Day Two observations and this will be the final stuff from this particular day. Don’t worry I still have plenty to come as I’ve been lining out this presentation a little differently this year. So if this is your first glance at this years overview, I ask that you please pause and click HERE since that will open up a window with all of our posts about this years convention. It’s always best to start at the beginning with this stuff. Let’s begin with this robotic Optimus Prime. You press a button and it transforms into the truck and back into the leaders of the Autobots.
Greetings my fellow geeks and welcome back to my continued presentations from the 2022 edition of the New York Comic Con. I’m starting on the Day Two stuff now and since three installments like this precede this post along with a wealth of exhibitor posts, you are going to want to click HERE to see everything in the order that it was posted. As I’ve said in the earlier posts, we suggest that you start at the beginning because it gives you a proper idea about the event if you are from far away. It also gives us extra time on site in our statistics and Google loves that stuff. Let’s get right on down into it and this time I will start with the Short video that I recorded only a few minutes after I arrived. That lives on our YouTube Channel which I hope you will give a Subscribe to.
As you’ve seen already and on numerous NYCC posts over the years, I like to focus on the fans/cosplayers who drop good money on attending. The ReedPOP folks always remind their press outlets that they are fan first and I like to help that along by showcasing the hard work like this awesome Gem.
Greetings fellow Geeks, you know the drill and you know where you are right now, well, you should know at this point 🙂 For those just joining the program allow me to welcome you to the PiercingMetal in-depth visual overview of the 2019 New York Comic Con. I’m up to Part Three of the Day Two observations and I am just going to pick up from where I left you in Part Two. The newbies might want to click HERE first so they see all that’s come before this one.
As per usual, I am picking up from where I left off and here we see the lovely Hendo once more dressed in some sort of Psylocke/Playboy Bunny mashup. I stopped by here once more because as you can see there was a Vero booth. Vero was supposed to take the place of both Facebook and Instagram but it didn’t. I have an account that can be followed but so far I’ve barely used it.
This is Tom Bilyeu and he is the founder of Impact Theory Comics. I was happy to take an autographed copy of his “Hexagon” comic book.
IDW Publishing has a few adult coloring books that are the creative work of artist Alan Robert. Metalheads know him as one of the members of the band Life Of Agony as well and they have been very active of late so do check them out when you get the chance.
For the last few years one of the highlights of the convention exploration was dropping by the folks at Evil Ink Press. They are the publishers of the Science Fiction series “The Amory Wars”. This series is the brainchild of one Claudio Sanchez, singer and guitarist of Hard Rock/Progressive stalwarts Coheed and Cambria.
Claudio always does signings at the booth and the line is ridiculous. It’s awesome that he does this and I always make it a point to snap a quick photo or two when I know his schedule.
I slipped back down to Artist Alley for a few shots and couldn’t resist snapping this design by Michael Golden. Looks familiar doesn’t it? Do you know the story about it? It’s a hoot.
Let me stop here and leave the rest for tomorrow since there still is enough images for one more Day Two posting. Please be sure to click through on the website links down below and to make this all the more special, I’ve added some Amazon.com purchase links for some of the items that were discussed in this chapter. Don’t forget to follow PiercingMetal on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube so you don’t miss a second of the fun. See you next time.
The Press Release:
Brooklyn Vegan, 89.5 FM WSOU, and The Jerry Farley Presents have teamed up to host LIFE OF AGONY’S “The Sound Of Scars” Record Release Celebration at Coney Island Brewery on Saturday, October 12th. This is an exclusive hometown event before the group kicks off their S.O.S. World Tour, and there are only two ways to attend… fans can either win tickets from Brooklyn Vegan and WSOU, or purchase a very limited amount of VIP Packages through Coney Island Brewery.

The Press Release:
Just when you thought it was safe to pack your colors away, creator Alan Robert returns with The Beauty of Horror: Ultimate Nightmare, Deluxe Coloring Set. Get your claws around twelve oversized illustrations that you can color and frame from the bestselling horror series. Each 12″ x 12″ MONSTER-sized print allows for an even more fun coloring experience with its large spaces and one-sided, deluxe coloring format. This GOREgeous print collection includes fan favorites from The Beauty of Horror Volume One, Volume Two: Ghouliana’s Creepatorium, Volume Three: Haunted Playgrounds, and features three, brand-new Alan Robert exclusives!
When asked about the thinking behind the title, the Life of Agony bassist explains, “Beauty of Horror fans can finally decorate their walls with their GOREgeous artwork for the very first time, which also means they’ll be inviting Ghouliana into their homes.” Robert laughs, “So, don’t blame me when her hollowed eyes creep you out from across the room! Yeah, I’d say Ultimate Nightmare is aptly named.”
“The fan reaction to Beauty of Horror has been phenomenal,” says Justin Eisinger, Senior Editor, Books for IDW Publishing. “But we knew there were new dark corners of this breakout hit to explore, and this new, collectible format is something we think fans of BoH and coloring books in general will really enjoy.”
The Beauty of Horror: Ultimate Nightmare, Deluxe Coloring Set by Alan Robert arrives in stores September 2018 from IDW Publishing.
Author Bio: Alan Robert is the creator of several critically-acclaimed graphic novels: Wire Hangers, Crawl to Me (in development to become a motion picture), Killogy, The Shunned One, and The Beauty of Horror, a bestselling series of horror-themed adult coloring books. Robert is also well known as the bassist/songwriter for the hard rock group Life of Agony for over two decades. A Brooklyn native, Alan’s journey as a comic book creator began at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he attended on a scholarship and studied cartooning under legendary Thor comic writer/artist Walt Simonson.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I think this is a cool idea if you are a fan of the adult coloring books that we see making an appearance on the shelves every now and again. I must admit that I haven’t “colored” anything in many, many years but some of my friends do and say that it’s a very relaxing practice. These are your conventional folks and not artists per se. I might have to give this a whirl myself considering I always get some awesome provisions from our friends at Crayola at the yearly Toy Fair when we cover the convention. If you are an art-minded person you should look into them as well since there are some fantastic new pencils, crayons and markers. Good luck IDW and Alan on this new release. I cannot wait to see it in living to be color
