It’s been a little bit of time since the fifth season of Marvel’s “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” ended but I am glad to have a sneak peek look into what is to come for the fans and of course myself. I’ve been watching the show since it first began and as I’ve said a few times it was not an easy go at first. When it got good it was really good and just what fans of the bigger screen universe needed. The series will return in May which is after both “Captain Marvel” and “Avengers: Endgame” have been released so I wonder if we shall get any inferences about those films. Let’s watch the clip.

Tonight: “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” on ABC (12/1/2017)

Hopefully some of the overall excitement about the recently revealed “Avengers: Infinity War” trailer has subsided and you can now focus on the Season Five premiere of Marvel’s “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” which will air tonight on ABC with a two-hour debut. As you might recall from the fourth season cliffhanger, the team appears to be in outer space so check out the poster and some casting/premise below. Be sure to set your DVR if you are unable to sit down and watch it with the rest of us.

The Premise: The fifth season of the American television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., based on the Marvel Comics organization S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division), revolves around the character of Phil Coulson and other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and allies as they try to save humanity while in deep space. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. The season is produced by ABC Studios, Marvel Television, and Mutant Enemy Productions, with Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, and Jeffrey Bell serving as showrunners.

Main Cast/Characters:
Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson
Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May
Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson/Quake
Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz
Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons
Henry Simmons as Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie
Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez

Recurring & Guest Cast:
Jeff Ward as Deke
Eve Harlow as Tess
Pruitt Taylor Vince as Grill
Coy Stewart as Flint
Joel Stoffer as Enoch
Nick Blood as Lance Hunter

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I have greatly enjoyed the last few seasons of “AOS” and felt that the show was delivering the goods time and time again. Season four was a thrill ride and its great to find all the MCU inferences going on. The show became so much better than how it started and if you are not up to speed get on Netflix or bribe a friend with an account to let you come over and watch. One has to hope that with S5 that we will get some “Avengers: Infinity War” discourse or hints at “Black Panther”. Will you be watching my friends? Let me know down in the comments section below.

Tonight: “Agents Of Hydra” Returns (4/4/2017)

When I saw that there were a whole bunch of character posters for the return of Marvel’s “Agents Of SHIELD” oops, I mean “Agents Of Hydra” I just had to share them since I love bringing these to your attention. I have to say that this third season of the show has been exceptional and we’ve met folks like the Ghost Rider and read crib notes from The Darkhold and even had an identity crisis with the Life Model Decoys. Good stuff, and like watching a comic book take place in real life. Now the team faces a world run by Hydra and I cannot wait to see what’s next. Take a look at these posters.

Tonight: “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Begins “LMD” Storyline

It was only a few weeks ago that Marvel’s “Agents Of SHIELD” closed out a very exciting and edge of your seat first half based on the introduction of the Ghost Rider. I admit that I didn’t see how such a character could even work in the television show but I remained hopeful and ended up being glued to the television each and every week as the story played out. Now that the holidays are over, the second half storyline begins with “LMD” which means “Life Model Decoy”.

I have to say that the last couple of seasons of the show have been great and there are enough inferences to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe to keep you aware of the shows connection to it. A name drop of a hero every so often or a circumstance that happened in another film are always par for the course and very welcome IMHO. As a fan of the S.H.I.E.L.D. mythology its great to find the Life Model Decoy stuff finally being introduced as its gone hand in hand with numerous comic series featuring the characters. As before the cast remains Clark Gregg, who reprises his role as Coulson from the film series along with Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Henry Simmons. If you’ve been watching the series please let me know what you thought of the Ghost Rider inclusion and how you think this new LMD scenario will be.
