Ozzy Osbourne & Tony Iommi Close The 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games

ozzy osbourne logo

The 2022 Edition of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games ended yesterday and as a part of the grandiose closing celebration there was a surprise appearance by Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi. This would be the first appearance by Ozzy on the live stage in about three years. The pair were joined by Tommy Clufetos on drums and Adam Wakeman on bass.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: What more can I add to this? I really don’t think there is a whole lot of discourse to add outside of how awesome it was to see two legendary members of Black Sabbath jamming out to one of their most classic of numbers “Paranoid”. According to some reports they also did “Iron Man” but this was the only Official Video posted on the Black Sabbath YouTube Channel. Everyone sounded great and the two legends were smiling back and forth during the song which had to send satisfying waves through the screen of those watching it like this and for sure to those who were witnessing this in person. I doubt we shall see one more go round for Sabbath in the touring sense but after these pandemic times and the way that the world is turning I surely wouldn’t mind it. What say you all? Chime in down below in the comments and I will see you again soon.

“War Pigs” Live (Single) by Black Sabbath

Artist: Black Sabbath
Title: “War Pigs” Live (Single)
Label: Rhino Entertainment
Release Date: 11/10/2017
Genre: Hard Rock/Heavy Metal
Rating: 5/5

While we are still a little under seven days out to the release of “The End” by the time I get this single review online, the mighty and most legendary Black Sabbath has been enjoying their musical retirement since February of this year. The final show in Birmingham, England where they formed was the last time that they raised the horns together for the Metal Legions. So far, two other singles have been issued with “Paranoid” and “N.I.B.” and since I’ve briefly touched upon them, why not offer up some thoughts on the final single and very impacting Heavy Metal track “War Pigs”.

Ozzy Osbourne To Celebrate Five Decades Of Performing With Farewell World Tour

Well it seems as though the Metal world will have to come to terms with the eventual retirement of one of its most legendary figures as the great Ozzy Osbourne has recently announced his for real this time “Farewell Tour”. I say it like that since Ozzy has had a couple of these go rounds already but no one is complaining here. As readers and the rest of the Metal world knows, Black Sabbath closed the book on its career earlier in the year and that final show can be enjoyed on a video release called “The End” which will come out in a couple of weeks. As soon as I get that I will toss a review together. Please stay tuned and now let’s get into the full press release about the final tour.

The Press Release:
Five decades. 18,262 days. More than 2,500 shows.

On his upcoming farewell world tour, OZZY OSBOURNE–Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy® winning singer and songwriter–will celebrate more than five decades as a performer (both as a solo artist and as lead singer of Black Sabbath which formed in 1968). This tour, expected to take OZZY around the world with dates into 2020, will mark the end of global touring for the legendary artist, though he will continue to perform select live shows.

“People keep asking me when I’m retiring,” OZZY says. “This will be my final world tour, but I can’t say I won’t do some shows here and there.”
