Nuclear Blast Records Signs Poland’s Behemoth

The Press Release:
BEHEMOTH – arguably the biggest extreme metal band in the world – have extended and expanded their contract with Nuclear Blast, who will now distribute the group’s music worldwide outside of their home country. The group originally signed with Nuclear Blast Europe prior to the release of 2009’s Evangelion, but their forthcoming album – which is tentatively set for a Fall 2021 release – will be their first to be released by the label outside of the Old Continent.

Formed in 1991 by then-teenage guitarist/vocalist Adam “Nergal” Darski, BEHEMOTH shattered the glass ceiling of the European metal underground thanks to a combination of aggressive worldwide touring, fiery and theatrical live performances, visually captivating music videos and unwaveringly intense music. Albums such as Decibel Magazine Hall of Fame inductee Demigod (2005) and 2014’s The Satanist – hailed by Metal Hammer as the greatest extreme metal album of the 21st Century, and one of two BEHEMOTH records to achieve gold-certified status in Poland – pushed blasphemous blackened death metal to heights previously thought unattainable. Those releases provided the group with no shortage of fierce ammunition to conquer all audiences in its path, whether in support of childhood heroes such as OZZY OSBOURNE, SLAYER and DANZIG; on some of metal’s biggest festival stages around the globe; or more recently, in European arenas alongside fellow subversives SLIPKNOT.

Metal Blade Records Presents: Behemoth “The Satanist” Live Video

If you’ve never witnessed the crushing brutality that is the band Behemoth, then you’re going to want to maximize this next video on your screen and indulge as Metal Blade Records presents the band doing their song “The Satanist” in concert. The clip hails from their forthcoming video and CD release “Messe Noire”. You’ve been warned.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I don’t have much to add here other than the fact that while this is a solid delivery and execution of the title track from their “The Satanist” album; there is truly no better way to experience Behemoth than with your own eyes in a club where they might be playing. I wouldn’t recommend that the newbies stand too close to the stage since the crowd surfing can get out of hand, but standing on the periphery of it all or viewing down from up above is worth doing. I’ve been seeing Behemoth in concert since 2004 unless I am off a year and its always an experience that leaves me exhausted but wanting more. I’ve even been fortunate enough to have met the guys over the years and to have covered their work here on the website. Just click THIS LINK to open up any posts that refer to them. You’ll find a little bit of everything by doing that and most posts have links to Amazon.com purchase points to spark your grabbing the credit card. Currently, Behemoth is one of the many bands that are supporting the final tour by Slayer. They are on the first leg and if you’ve interest in catching them you better act fast or risk missing out on it. “Messe Noire” will hit the streets in April.

Behold Your Tour of Tours: Slayer, Lamb Of God and Behemoth!!!

The scuttlebutt for this one has been making the rounds for a couple of days but I generally try to wait for 100% official press confirmation announcements since its a good policy. That being said, the Apocalypse will be set in motion this summer based on the fact that Slayer will be doing a headlining run with support from Lamb Of God and Behemoth. Check out the full on scoop below. I’ll be back with closing thoughts later.

The Press Release:
SLAYER…LAMB OF GOD…BEHEMOTH…Spreading The Apocalypse This Summer
LOS ANGELES, CA – Tuesday, February 28, 2017 — There are many perilous ways one can spend time off – Volcano-boarding down Cerro Negro, Nicaragua’s active volcano, or maybe bungee jumping from a helicopter over the bubbling crater of Chile’s Villarrica. How about a visit to Sao Paulo’s Snake Island, home of some 4000 golden lancehead vipers whose venom can melt human flesh, or shark diving without a cage in South Africa. But nothing is quite as hazardous or risky as a night in the pit at a Slayer concert. Add to that the ferociousness of Lamb of God and Behemoth, and you’ve got a Satan-approved triple bill of Biblical proportions.

The six-week expedition will rage across North America beginning July 12 in Bemidji, MN, winding up in Phoenix, AZ on August 20. Slayer and Lamb of God will also play Wisconsin’s Rock Fest 2017 (7/13) and Rock USA 2017 (7/15), and then meet up with Behemoth at the Chicago Open Air Festival on July 16. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 3; log on to www.slayer.net/tour for all purchasing details.

Kerry King/Slayer Quote:
“As metal tours go, this is the one that your fellow metal heads will be bragging about if you miss it! Not very often I get to go on tour where we are all friends to start. That being said, the potential for greatness at these events is mind blowing. I look forward to being a part of it, and hanging with old friends- bands as well as fanatical fans! Let the festivities begin!!” Continue reading Behold Your Tour of Tours: Slayer, Lamb Of God and Behemoth!!!

Behemoth Returns With “Blasfemia Amerika Tour 2016”

Logo - Behemoth

Considering how long they’ve been around, I’m hoping that you’ve been able to catch a show by the mighty Behemoth at least once or more because if you are a Metal fan and have not yet done so you are cheating yourself out of one of the most brutalizing events that can be witnessed on the stage today. Their music is throttling and their presentation is nothing less than intensity times ten and if you are still among the unschooled in this Metal education, then the recent announcement about the bands return to America with supporting act Myrkur should set your plans in motion. Take a look at the poster, the press release and the tour dates below and then I’ll return.

Tour - Behemoth - 2016
