It was that time of the year again for the always amazing “Sweet Suite” event that comes care of the fine folks at the Toy Insider. According to my notes, I’ve been attending Toy Insider happenings since 2016 and I look forward to it each and every time. This year I’ve decided to post the coverage a little differently since while some things are best served up here on PiercingMetal, there are also a number of amazing products that I can feature over on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. Let’s start off with some visuals from the Playmates Toys booth.
I’ll begin with what they had from their “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” line. Some of you might have already seen a couple of these items from “The Play Date” event where I did a product overview video with them but some items are new for the season. I love the smaller figures and plan on getting myself a set soon. I still have the original action figures from long, long ago in a box somewhere.
Earlier today the fine folks at Hasbro Toys revealed a brand-new wave of Marvel Legends Series action figures based on the upcoming film “Guardians Of The Galaxy” Vol. 3. The product images and description all come from their side of the fence but I will be adding in some closing editorial notions about it all. Check it out.
MARVEL LEGENDS SERIES GROOT: “I AM GROOT!” Grown into a more mature tree, Groot uses his new body changes and more advanced skills to help build Knowhere and protect his family. Celebrate the MARVEL UNIVERSE with this deluxe MARVEL LEGENDS SERIES GROOT figure. This quality 6-inch scale Groot figure features deco and design inspired by the character’s appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3! Includes figure and 4 entertainment-inspired accessories including a Baby Rocket figure.
Specs: Ages 4 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $38.99 / Available: Spring 2023
Hello again my friends and welcome back to some more coverage from the New York Comic Con for 2022. So as I’ve just wrapped up the Day Three visuals, I wanted to pause for a moment and shine the spotlight on two of my favorite companies. As you know, the PiercingMetal outlet has been going to the Toy Fair since 2011 but pandemic pauses and changes found it being moved to the Fall of next year. With no Toy Fair in 2022, it made good sense to visit the toy companies we know well and lend them some love. This post features some visuals from both NECA and Playmobil. I’ll start with NECA and if you are only just now joining us and want to see the full NYCC presentations from the beginning just click HERE to do that.
NECA always has a lot of cool stuff and here are some of the new additions to their “Toony Terrors” line of action figures. These are essentially the movie monsters and antagonists done as if they were in cartoons. The idea is brilliant when you think about it.
