The Original Misfits Announce Triumphant Return To Chicago!!!

Hold onto your hats Chicago because The Original Misfits are coming back to visit you and will likely leave a whole lot of chaos in their wake. Sadly, I didn’t see any sort of press copy that lines out and extols the colorful history of the group and only received the poster below in my email. Since this is a one night only experience, I am thinking that it speaks volumes just the same. Do you agree?

tour posters, misfits, misfits tour posters

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Having recently caught this show at Newark’s Prudential Center, I’ve gotta say that you are going to want to get yourself out to this if you live in the region and can do so. Hearing these songs done by their original creators once again teamed up was fantastic for me, and of course my show also featured guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein with compliments from Acey Slade (guitar) and Dave Lombardo (drums). I’m not sure why Doyle isn’t mentioned on this poster but perhaps he is being held back as a big surprise reveal. I would hate that fans of the classic lineup would miss out on him if he had other touring commitments at the time of this show but let’s see what happens. The openers for this performance are also strong with the legendary Punk group Fear and Venom Inc. and Power Trip. It’s the kind of show that you are going to want to arrive for nice and early to enjoy all of the bands. Oh and before I go, let me point out that considering how the last few shows were, this one is very likely also going to be a no-phone show which means you must secure your mobile device in a sealed pouch or leave it locked in your car hidden from prying eyes. That’s all I have on this one, what do you think about the news? Are you excited? Or could you care less? Chime in down below.

The Original Misfits Reunite! Again!! For One Show Only!!!

Sure this is great news but for one show only? Come on guys you are KILLING ME with this…..Check out the poster and press release down below. I’ll return with some ire and condemnation at the close for sure ;p

The Press Release:
This December, on 12/30, Original Singer/Songwriter Glenn Danzig & Original Bassist Jerry Only joined by Guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein – for the First Time in Over 30 Years – will return to Los Angeles to reunite as The Original Misfits. Following their two historic reunion shows in 2016 at Riot Fest in Denver & Chicago that drew rabid fans in droves from all over the world and shattered attendance records at the festivals, this ‘One Night Only’ event will be the ‘Only’ 2017 performance in this world… or any world for the legendary horror-punk trailblazers. The band will be joined by special guests to be announced soon.

“OK Los Angeles, you’ve waited almost 35 years for this, here’s your chance to see the “Original Misfits” in this Exclusive L.A. only performance.” said Glenn Danzig. “No Tour, No BS, just one night of dark metal-punk hardcore brutality that will go down in the history books. See you there.”

Tickets for the reunion that never seemed possible, go on sale to the general public starting Friday, August 25th at 12:30pm local time at: http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/09005310FF327BA0

Jerry Only adds, “The Misfits were so far ahead of their time when we began back in 1977, that it took the world 40 years to catch up. That time has come, and that time is NOW… We intend to take you on a ride back in time, and into the future to experience 100% authentic punk rock at its essence, and the origin of thrash in its purist form. History will be made—again. Prepare to be devastated…”

The Original Misfits Reunion Decimates The Denver Riot Fest

Logo - The Misfits

And they said it would never happen but last night in Denver, Colorado at a calm little function they call the “Riot Fest” – a bit of music history took place. It was an event that pretty much everyone had given up hope on ever occurring but when the news was announced a few months ago a nervous countdown happened among the fans while thousands scrambled for tickets to see this one act only. I am speaking of none other than the mighty and macabre Misfits whose original members Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein put the differences aside and offered up a reunion performance that will surely go down in history. They were joined by Acey Slade on second guitar and the inimitable Dave Lombardo (formerly of Slayer) on the drums and below the poster you will find a few of the audience recorded clips of the evenings happening.

Poster - Misfits Reunion - 2016

I didn’t snag too many clips for you and instead will leave the rest up to your own discovery. I did however locate a few of my favorites and am sharing them below. As I watched them I was slavering at the idea of actually being at this event. At least with these we are all flies on the wall and that is better than nothing. Many thanks to those fans who recorded them without too much bopping around. Your dedication to fellow fans is commendable.

Dope Announces “Die Mother F**ker Die” Reunion Tour

Hey there readers so between the contests and the other “Milestone” pieces coming down the pike here at PM.com, I thought you might be interested in the latest dope (hahahaha) on the band Dope. They posted this the other day about a reunion tour that is labelled as the “Die Mother Fucker Die” tour (such language – I feel like Captain America by saying that….watch “Avengers Age Of Ultron” to know the inside line). Anyway so below the poster you will find some press copy from the bands Facebook and words from Mr. Edsel Dope himself. Then there are a lot of show dates to firm up in your event planner if you ever followed these guys. Dig in.
