Back in July, I shared the nominees for the 45th Annual Saturn Awards and you actually don’t need to refer to that post since I’ve decided to not only list the winning names with this kind of narrative but also those who each honoree went head to head against. I think that it makes this kind of post a little more interesting and since this is a lengthy read, I will get right on down to business. Take a look at who won and who didn’t and know that I shall return at the close with some additional editorial viewpoints. Remember that this is an event curated by The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. Enjoy.

Hey there my friends, its the time of the year for the nominees for the annual Saturn Awards and while this celebration has been around for a number of years we’ve only begun sharing their updates here on PiercingMetal with the 2018 event. If you’d like to examine last years winners you can click HERE since it was quick interesting. Now the reason for being supportive of these awards is based on how much they play to the interests of our fellow Pop Culture enthusiasts. I leave the coverage of The Oscars, the full Grammy Awards and numerous others over to “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” side of my creative fence. Before we continue along, the newbies to this particular topic should know that unlike The Oscars, these awards lend strong focus to the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres. They even include a number of action films and more. They are curated by The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. Let’s take a look at this years nominees.

Presenting The 44th Annual Saturn Awards Nominees

For as long as I can remember, I have been an absolute geek for the superhero action-adventure types of series along with comic books and I’ve reflected that interest here on PiercingMetal for a number of years as well. Some of you might remember when we had the side blog called “PiercingMetal Musings” which was created to shine the spotlight on that stuff but with the 2014 full conversion to WordPress, all of those items were integrated into the main website to make this outlet all the more entertaining. This will be my first go at documenting this particular awards show as part of my constant effort to keep you entertained. The Saturn Awards are presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films and they celebrate the best in science fiction, fantasy, horror, and other genres belonging to genre fiction in film, television, home media releases, and local theatre productions (slightly paraphrased from their Wiki entry). Let’s take a look at this year’s nominees.
