Today, System Of A Down announces three massive stadium events featuring Deftones, Avenged Sevenfold and Korn. Produced by Live Nation, the performances will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, on August 28 with Korn; Soldier Field in Chicago, IL, on August 31 with Avenged Sevenfold; and conclude at Rogers Stadium in Toronto, ON, on September 3 with Deftones. Special guests Polyphia and Wisp will open for all three shows.
TICKETS: Tickets will be available starting with an artist presale beginning on Wednesday, December 11. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale beginning on Friday, December 13 at 12 pm local time at LiveNation.com

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Truth be told I was not one of the legions that followed System Of A Down when they were first enjoying their explosive heyday. Sure I really enjoyed a number of their songs and while I had some curiosity about catching them in concert I never managed to get around to it. Back then I was so much more of a Symphonic Power Metal fan and Progressive Metal. I’ve expanded over the years and I figured that I should share that disclosure first to not sound like one of those journalists who claim to have been there from the beginning and had been counting the moments until this kind of news. That being said I do think its impressive that such a return will be this much of a blockbuster and amazing to be doing three stadium shows with such bands as their direct support acts. Lets be honest here, Avenged Sevenford, Korn and the Deftones are all arena level headlining acts in their own right so to see them leading the fans into the SOAD set is rather impressive for sure. You might be wondering if I’m considering vying for interest and while this is farther away than most other things I’d definitely consider it since like I said I never saw them before and I am always looking to cross another artist off of my must see at some point list. To do this kind of stuff I’ll probably have to wait until June to put in but who knows. Let’s table that for now and worry about the present.
