We’ve been attending NY Comic Con and the Toy Fair for just about a decade now and with the latter event happening in the coming days, I am pleased to share one of the latest offerings from the amazing Super7 company. The deal was brokered by Global Merchandising Services, Inc. worldwide Agent for Slayer. Formed in 1981 in Huntington Park, CA, American thrash metal band Slayer are considered one of the greatest metal bands in history with twelve albums and over 20 million records sold.
Super7’s® Show No Mercy Figure features the iconic Minotaur from the cover of Slayer’s 1983 debut album and is the newest addition to their popular 3.75-inch ReAction Figure line. This release continues Super7’s® tradition of taking iconic music and entertainment properties and giving them a unique nostalgic twist.
Super7® founder and owner Brian Flynn described his personal connection to Slayer saying, “Growing up in the 80’s, punk rock, skateboarding and metal were heavily intertwined. I learned about Slayer first from their ads and reviews in Thrasher Magazine. Needless to say, as teenage kids we were hooked on all things extreme, and Slayer took it to the next level. The Show No Mercy ReAction Figure will be released in February 2019 in conjunction with New York Toy Fair. The 2019 Slayer tour begins in March and goes through the summer when more dates will be announced.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Unholy Sh*t my friends, this menacing minion of the Darkest Depths of Hell is a must have for any collector of Metal related memorabilia and toy collectors of a certain focus. I love it and have really enjoyed all of the stuff that Super7 is dishing out. Of course, I should stress that this is not a Minotaur in the eyes of any Slayer fan and is instead Baphomet (look it up, you’ll see the uncanny likeness). It’s probably easier to sell this with the slightly different branding. I loved their “Masters Of The Universe” line of figures and what self-respecting Metal fan wasn’t over the moon about their Iron Maiden Eddies and the King Diamond and Misfits assorted Fiends. Whew. Start setting aside some cash because there is plenty more to come and in case you didn’t know this yet – PiercingMetal will once again be exploring the annual Toy Fair at Javits Center this weekend. I’ll be passing by the Super7 folks for sure along with numerous other exhibitors that I’ve focused on over the last few years for our Toys & Collectibles features.
