STX Entertainment’s “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” Final Trailer

At last year’s NYCC, I noticed a whole bunch of people lining up to have a fun photograph taken as a part of the promotion being done for the coming soon Science Fiction film “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”. I had some time on my hands and couldn’t resist the chance to have some additional stuff for the website so I got on the line as well. The photo allowed you to be arriving on a planet from a spacecraft and in typical fashion I pretended to be focused more on my mobile device than the world around me no matter how distant it was to the rest of us. This is my first post about the film and actually the final trailer so please take a look.

The Plot: In the 28th century, Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives charged with keeping order throughout the human territories. On assignment from the Minister of Defense, the two undertake a mission to Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis where species from across the universe have converged over centuries to share knowledge, intelligence, and culture. At the center of Alpha is a mysterious dark force which threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets, and Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe. (thanks Wiki).

PiercingMetal Thoughts: The film is set to open in late July and since I don’t know my personal whereabouts for that time I will not firm up that I am seeing this one in the theater on its opening. I still have some time to decide but this trailer looks pretty good. Reminded me a lot of the kind of story we got in “Avatar” based on the cool special effects. Sure there is a LOT of CGI going on in this one but what can you expect in a film of this kind. Let me know what you thought of the trailer and if this is something you are interested in down in the comments section below. Until next time (which is likely tomorrow based on all the stuff that is being revealed and released for your entertainment).
