Nowadays it’s not as uncommon to find a movie based on a video game series coming to life on the big screen. We’ve seen this in numerous “Resident Evil” adaptations over the years and even the fairly recent “Mortal Kombat” so now its “Uncharted” that’s taking a turn. The film stars Tom Holland (Spider-Man) and comes care of Sony Pictures. The first trailer has dropped so I’ve got that for you down below along with the premise, casting and provided artwork. Enjoy.
The Premise: Taking place years before the events of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, a young Nathan Drake and his partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan go up against a wealthy, ruthless fortune hunter and his mercenaries to claim “the greatest treasure never found” while also tracking clues that may lead to Drake’s long-lost brother.
Tom Holland as Nathan “Nate” Drake
Mark Wahlberg as Victor “Sully” Sullivan
Sophia Ali as Chloe Frazer
Tati Gabrielle as Braddock
Antonio Banderas as Moncada

PiercingMetal Thoughts: While I’ve been known to feature the occasional video game trailer here in our Pop Culture focuses I am not the biggest gamer out there and this finds me not too up on the whole “Uncharted’ franchise. I do enjoy the work of Tom Holland quite a bit from his portrayal of Spider-Man over the last few years and I will add that I am so excited for the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” film that opens in December. This trailer was fun and makes me think that I might enjoy the film but again no real vested interest based on the lack of background. I am also not 100% there on being in the movies with the state of the virus in my city. What about you readers? Are you interested in this live-action adventure or have you been fans of the video game for a long time already? Chime in down below in the comments section if you have something topical to say. Please stay safe out there and I will see you next time with something else real soon.
