The folks at Sony Pictures are continuing to build their “Sony’s Marvel Universe” with this next installment feature “Morbius”. Fans of the Spider-Man comic will fully remember The Living Vampire from his debut appearance in those pages and now let’s take a look at the teaser trailer.

The Premise: One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease. (c/o Sony Pictures)

The Cast/Characters:
Jared Leto as Michael Morbius
Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft
Matt Smith as Loxias Crown
Jared Harris as Morbius’s mentor
Tyrese Gibson as Simon Stroud
Al Madrigal as Alberto Rodriguez
Michael Keaton in an undisclosed role

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I have to say that it doesn’t look all that bad but it does also leave me some pause since once more we have a Spider-Man character that came to be as a part of that characters direct intervention coming to be on his own. Remember that they did the same thing with the first “Venom” movie and as a matter of fact, that films sequel is supposed to have a trailer reveal today as well. I’ve always been a fan of Morbius The Living Vampire and not only for his back and forth with Spider-Man but in his own adventures in comics such as “Adventure Into Fear” and back in the 90’s when he was one of the Midnight Sons. I’d go see this but still prefer the full on Marvel Studios films since they are so much better at it. Let’s face it, there is no way that Sony is letting go of these rights ever so let the masses speak on how the film performs. If it’s like “Dark Phoenix” you will know straight away. I like Leto in the role of Michael Morbius and can see myself getting behind him as this character more than whatever the hell he was doing as Joker in “The Suicide Squad”. Chime in with your thoughts down below. See you next time.
