It’s been nine long months since the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Sony Pictures Releasing feature of “Morbius” was released and if you’ve fogotten that we posted this just click HERE to see it one more time. So as you might know, Sony now calls this their Sony’s Spider-Man Universe because they are holders of the rights to films and recently released the marginal “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” film. Now it’s time to see what “Morbius” will be like with the Official Trailer that was just released.

The Premise: One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease. (c/o Sony Pictures)

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m a big fan of the Morbius character in the Spider-Man comics but I am still on the fence about his being given a full-length movie since its not the kind of character that the fans in general are clamoring for. Let’s remember that the Spider-Man franchise is controlled by Sony Pictures and NOT Disney so they are going to put out whatever they can. Disney has been able to secure some participation from Spider-Man in a number of MCU films but I think my excitement is tepid at best until these rights revert but who knows when and if that can happen. The recent “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” was a marginal film and I like both the actors and the characters involved but…. I’ll likely see this as a matinee when it opens but that is about all I have on this. It looks like it might be good but then again so did “Venom 2”. What do you readers think? Oh yeah and before I go the art I used since there isn’t a proper poster of any kind yet, is Morbius The Living Vampire by Marcelo Ferreira from a post about the character found HERE. Feel free to chime in with your own thoughts about this upcoming film down in the comments section below.
