SOILWORK vocalist Bjorn “Speed” Strid states, “We are very excited to announce our first North American headline run in a while, together with old friends in Unearth and Wovenwar. We are also bringing Battlecross and Darkness Divided, two awesome bands that we are looking forward to get to know a bit better! We have already done two direct support tours in North America, for our latest album with Soulfly and Fear Factory, where we gained a lot of new fans. Now it’s time to bring “The Ride Majestic World Tour” to North America via the “Fury Tour” in full force with a headline set, featuring songs from our 20 year long career. It’s gonna be magical ladies n’ gents, don’t miss out!”

Unearth vocalist Trevor Phipps states, “The power of the riff is hitting North America by way of the ‘Fury Tour’ this fall and we couldn’t be happier to be part of it. From the mighty SOILWORK, to the thrashers in Battlecross, our brothers in Wovenwar and the young guns in Darkness Divided this tour is stacked top to bottom. See you out there, North America.”

Headliners and Swedish death metal leaders SOILWORK have been churning out melodic heavy metal masterpieces since their formation in 1995. The band is gearing up for the release of their upcoming special collection of rarities, Death Resonance, out August 19, 2016 via Nuclear Blast. You can watch the most recent in-studio update here. Pre-order Death Resonance in as CD digipak or clear vinyl here. They are also touring in support of their latest full-length album, The Ride Majestic. The Ride Majestic charted internationally upon its release, hitting the Billboard Top 200 in the US, and is available to order now in CD, vinyl, or digital formats.

Unearth is touring in support of their latest release, Watchers of Rule, released in 2014 via Entertainment One Music (eOne). The album marked their eOne debut and saw a Top 10 Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart debut, as well as a Top 200 debut. Unearth originally exploded onto the scene with their 2001 debut The Stings of Conscience, and followed with metal favorites The Oncoming Storm and III: In the Eyes of Fire, both of which solidified them as one of the top metal acts of the new millennium. They are currently writing their follow up to Watchers of Rule. Read more about Unearth here.

Battlecross will be touring in support of their latest album, Rise to Power, which landed on the Billboard charts at #103, marking the band’s second Billboard chart entry (2013’s War of Will entered the charts at #130). Wovenwar features the talents of Jordan Mancino (drums), Nick Hipa (guitar), Phil Sgrosso (guitar) and Josh Gilbert (bass) of San Diego, California based metal act As I Lay Dying, and Shane Blay (vocals) of Oh, Sleeper. Their self-titled debut landed at #36 on the Billboard Top 200 charts! To preview and purchase the record, please visit: www.metalblade.com/wovenwar

Darkness Divided will be touring in support of their self-titled sophomore release, heralded by New Noise Magazine as the album that will ‘establish Darkness Divided as major players.” The Texas metal disciples recently released a music video for ‘Back Breaker,’ and will be demonstrating their groove-laden technical metal that refuses to conform to one style.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m going to have to keep this quick since I am charging up the rig and heading out to the still brand new Ford Ampitheatre at the Coney Island Boardwalk to see the band Volbeat and Killswitch Engage. Whew this is going to be one thrill-filled night of music for sure. Speaking frankly, there are few bands that kick as much ass on the stage as Soilwork and I am super curious to see how the band is propelled forward by their new drummer. You might recall the recent news item about longtime drummer Dirk Verbeuren joining the ranks of Megadeth and if you didn’t just refresh your memory with the post I have online at THIS LINK – The choice of openers by way of Unearth, Battlecross and Wovenwar are doing to guarantee that all fans who attend will get the maximum value for their entertainment dollar. I can only stress that getting to the venue early is one of the most important things to be on your mind with your own regional show. It’s too early for me to know for sure if I am going to be at the Gramercy Theatre for our show but I do want to be. Let’s hope that nothing insanely real world pressing keeps me from being a part of this thundering night of Metal variety. So closing up what do you think of this tour?
