The Scoop: So as you know, this year the annual New York Comic Con had gone virtual and delivered unto the Geeks at large an event known as “New York Comic Con x MCM Comic Con’s Metaverse”. Last night I posted the update from their press team which you can peruse by clicking HERE in the event that you didn’t get to experience any of it in “real time”. Now with Day Two of the convention closed out, I continue the process to shine the spotlight on what they deemed most noteworthy. Enjoy.

* Whoopi Goldberg, James Marsden, Greg Kinnear, Amber Heard, Jovan Adepo, Odessa Young, and Owen Teague joined showrunner Benjamin Cavell and executive producer Taylor Elmore to discuss their new limited series The Stand, and also revealed the first full trailer:

* Fans of The Walking Dead received some exciting news from showrunners Angela Kang, Andrew Chambliss, Ian Goldberg, and Matt Negrete when they announced details of their upcoming anthology series based on the popular show:

* The all-star cast of STARZ Original Series American Gods revealed the season 3 teaser during their panel:

* Jonathan Tucker, Taylor Schilling, Kelly Marie Tran, Mike Colter, and creator Mary Laws unpacked some behind-the-scenes details from Hulu’s new series, Monsterland:

* The iconic Keanu Reeves took the virtual stage along with New York Times best-selling co-writer Matt Kindtand superstar artist Ron Garney to chat about their highly-anticipated new comic book series BRZRKR:

* Alan Tudyk and the cast of Resident Alien shared a look at the first 10 minutes of SYFY’s new series during their panel:

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Some interesting discussion and reveals for sure. Now as I’ve pointed out over the last few months in our Pop Culture focuses, I don’t currently subscribe to CBS All Access and let me add Starz to the mix as well. This means I will most likely not be seeing “The Stand” despite posting about it for you fans that do have that network. I was very curious about “American Gods” though since this is a Neil Gaiman property after all and we love his work. I will probably be checking out both “Monsterland” and “Resident Alien” and will keep the masses in tune with the stuff I learn about the Keanu Reeves comic book. That’s all I have for this brief bit of news but as I close up I wonder if you readers participated in any of the NYCC Metaverse or are looking to catch up over the weekend. Chime in down below and I will see you next time around. The topical links are below for you to explore of course.
