Martin Popoff is a former Editor-In-Chief for the now-retired Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, Canada’s foremost heavy-metal publication for 14 years. He has authored over 100 books on hard rock, heavy metal, classic rock, prog, and punk, covering bands like Kiss, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, and more. With that extensive expertise, Popoff has been a regular contractor to Banger Films, having worked for two years as researcher on the award-winning documentary Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage, on the writing and research team for the 11-episode Metal Evolution, and on the 10-episode Rock Icons, both for VH1 Classic. He has also contributed to Revolver, Guitar World, Goldmine, Record Collector, bravewords.com, lollipop.com, and hardradio.com. PiercingMetal Thoughts: This surely sounds like an interesting book and one that will very likely appeal to all of the fans of the band and maybe even those who consider themselves to be more of a casual fan than some kind of diehard. At the time of this posting, the legendary Iron Maiden is about a month in on their “Future Past” North American Tour and its going to hit our neck of the woods by the weekend. Sadly it doesn’t look like I will be in attendance at this one but I am off to see the equally legendary King Diamond tonight at the King’s Theatre but I digress, this post is about their upcoming book by Martin Popoff. I’m a fan of Popoff’s releases and recently saw a whole bunch of them at the NY NOW show over the summer. While this might seem a bit pricy, you can trust my word on saying that all of his books are quite extensive and are amazing volumes that you’re going to want in your Metal reading bookshelves.
