The holiday season was drawing ever so closer to being right on top of us and that means it was once again time for the Toy Insider’s awesome holiday happening known as the “Holiday Of Play”. Now according to my media memory, I’ve been attending both this and their summertime “Sweet Suite” event since about 2016 and over the years have parsed the content between this and my lifestyle website “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. While that sites content can be found by clicking HERE, this post lays its focus on the kinds of things the more grown up collector leans on. Give or take of course, so let’s explore these awesome items starting with our friends at Playmates Toys.
Playmates Toys has two really big licenses at the moment with their long-standing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures and playsets and the Miraculous Ladybug stuff. Last time, I posted the Ladybug things over on “The Chronicles” but with so much happening over there I just put them all together here. They didn’t have any of the Star Trek stuff that I saw at other events but maybe next time.
The folks at Spin Master had an absolutely incredible Batman playset called the “Batman Gotham Guardian”. It’s a sizeable playset for sure and comes apart into a few different components. When you put them all together its just WOW. Individually its rather cool as well. The Spin Master company also made some four inch action figures from the recent DC Superhero movies from Warner Brothers. There were items from “Black Adam”, “The Flash” and even “Blue Beetle” but I didn’t manage to get any of those to examine for website purposes. A shame since I do love the smaller scale action figures. Oh yeah, this playset comes with a special Batman action figure
While these next two items are not necessarily our usual demographics thing, I kept all of my Spin Master images in one place just like the Playmates Toys ones. That being said the truck is super cool and who doesn’t love some “Harry Potter” stuff.
This last one is one of those things that the slightly older Kidult can do with their kidult in training. I’m a big fan of monsters and to have this kind of experimental lab that “makes” them after you do some mixing of ingredients and press the dials on the machinery, its just too cool for school. I liked this one a lot and think that it might be the first time I’ve gotten to talk about Moose Toys on the PiercingMetal website.
The larger items displayed in this post will run you about $100 give or take but they are really awesome. I did videos for the Batman playset and the Beast-Lab but they are not live yet on the YouTube based on all of the Play NYC videos that are still premiering since I did “21” of them. So that is going to bring me to the end of the coverage that fell to our main geek interests and with the rest of it being aimed at a mostly younger audience demographic, I will be posting that stuff over on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. You can peruse anything that’s come to live on the website already by clicking HERE. Doing that will open a brand-new browser tab for you and you can scroll through at your leisure. I hope you enjoyed this piece of the puzzle because I was happy to share this bit of the wonderful event. The folks at The Toy Insider sure do know how to throw an event and I attend with excitement each time I see one of their invitations. See you next time for more of everything else I’m up to. Stay safe out there.
