The 2025 edition of the New York Comic Con wrapped a couple of weeks ago and in addition to a comprehensive day by day walkthrough posts, I dissected some of the photos from those days to offer up as succinct focus posts. Doing this let’s the content entertain you in a slightly different fashion and of course bumps up the overall amount of posts done for the convention. If you’re only just now joining us, I’ll ask you to please click HERE to enjoy the adventure and related posts from the very beginning. This post features three exciting companies that were present at New York Comic Con with Crunchyroll, Hasbro and The Loyal Subjects. Let’s get this party started with the Crunchyroll Manga booth.
So I’m not going to lie to you about this but I really don’t read a whole lot of Manga. I do love the format as an entertainment medium but I am mostly focused on the more traditional releases from the Marvel, DC and Image side of the fence and especially when collecting.
Crunchyroll was showcasing their “Crunchyroll Manga” app to the assembled masses and this booth was quite popular with fans checking it out and learning how to sign up for it. Here’s a look at some of the booth.
By my observation this was very likely a big hit and especially for the fans of reading their comics via an app. That’s really not my thing either to be honest and I still enjoy handling the physical issue and then placing it in a protective plastic sleeve with a backing board. I am very old school. Now onto a few images from the Hasbro booth. They were actually right near the Kayou booth that was spotlighted in an earlier post.
Hasbro releases a number of my favorite properties with “Star Wars”, “Marvel”, “Transformers” and of course “GI Joe”. Check out this menacing Dinobot.
“Cold Slither” is the Cobra funded Heavy Metal band from the classic “GI JOE: A Real American Hero” cartoon and believe it or not they are even a real thing in today’s world. We caught a live concert from them during the convention and it was great. The PiercingMetal website had been given a number of guest passes and we actually invited Cobra Commander and Destro. That is how we roll my friends – Hail Cobra!!!
Some really cool stuff from their “Ghostbusters” line of action figures and accessories. At the time of my snapping these images I wasn’t recalling even knowing that this stuff was coming out. Gotta love the Ecto-1.
I absolutely love the “Marvel Legends” stuff and while I used to collect the line of figures, there just became too many of them and now I snag one here and there. This Apocalypse was massive.
Highlights for me from this upcoming line are definitely The Phantom Rider and Werewolf by Night. I will need to find out when those are coming so I can secure them.
Apologies for not including some of the other stuff that they had in the booth. I left and thought that I had done that. Remember this convention is quite overwhelming. Now its onto the booth from The Loyal Subjects.
The Loyal Subjects won me over a few years ago with some of their BSTAXN line of action figures. Especially since they did a few KISS releases that I was lucky enough to find. They released an Ozzy but I never found him in the wild. Fans of the website with philanthropy in mind should reach out to the Editorial High Command if they have an extra but I digress. This year TLS was spotlighting their releases from M.A.S.K. and while I never followed this series or original toy line I do love the Mack Truck.
“Jem” is also a hot license for TLS and even though I’m more of a Metal guy with a lean towards that franchises own Misfits, I can say that this large-size fashion doll is absolutely beautiful.
The rest of The Loyal Subjects booth featured their offerings from properties such as “Rainbow Brite”, “Strawberry Shortcake”, “Teletubbies” and more. While many of these would likely see longer features over on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” website, they were left here in this context based on PiercingMetal being credentialed for the New York Comic Con.
That will bring me to the end of this third installment of the succinct focuses but don’t you worry as I’m not quite done with all of the New York Comic Con adventuring. Next up for you all to enjoy will be a few batches of our Exhibitor Interviews which we did for the Official PiercingMetal Youtube. While you wait you can help keep up the support of the PiercingMetal outlet on social media and otherwise via our Official Linktree. The networks of most importance to the brand remain the Instagram and the YouTube. See you again soon and thanks for reading.
