As previously reported, the New York Comic Con for 2024 had recently taken over the massive Javits Center for its annual convention. While the event is now in the books, I am still serving up the observations on a daily basis until its all finished. You’ve arrived on Day Two Part Two of the proceedings and if you want to start from the beginning please click NYCC 2024 to launch a new browser tab with everything that’s come before this post. I’m continuing along from where I left off and that was in the River Pavilion. It’s called this because a large part of it faces the Hudson River and its quite nice if its a nice clear day that is.
I stopped by the 501st Legion to check out their rather large presence.
Yes even The Empire has a Human Resources dept.
It was fun to find an attendee that resembled George Lucas with the 501st Legion Stormtroopers.
Back down to the Main Floor where the Pop Insider had been showcasing the coolness from EXG and doing a cute “Hello Kitty” giveaway.
Though I didn’t manage to catch her name, we had a nice brief chat about the offerings from Edenseek Publishing. There were a few titles I’d like to learn more about so perhaps in the future. Have you readers heard of this imprint yet?
The folks at Civil Regime had a massive Nightmare Before Christmas activation going on so I snapped some of their team since they all looked so spooky and boss.
SpongeBob and Patrick were also in attendance. It’s always nice to see them meeting their ardent fans.
Mary Jane Watson was finding her inner Lois Lane and doing some interviews.
Probably one of the coolest Beetlejuice cosplays that I’ve ever seen.
For some reason these Spider-Man and Deadpool cosplayers reminded me of that classic photo of the workers on the steel girder. Do you remember that photo or am I just horribly dating myself.
Here is an amazing bit of Superman art by Michelle Delecki but no MD can be found at the time that I passed by. I’ve known Michelle since the 2011 or 2012 NYCC that I attended and we’ve kept up ever since.
He’s the King Of Rock there is no higher, you sucka MC’s can call him Sire! Yes my friends it is the one and the only, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee and Rap Legend, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels. We’ve known him for a few years now and always love catching up at the NYCC.
Here’s Jae Lee…
Here’s Todd Nauck in a Spider-Man, Peter Parker in a bathrobe. Oh Todd you’re so silly…
This is Mary Landry who we were meeting for the very first time…
I don’t recall ever seeing a Calvin and Hobbes cosplay and since it was one of my favorite comic strips in the newspaper I was glad to see them. Maybe that needs a live-action film. What do you readers think?
The Teen Titans add Zelda to the team.
This is Gavin Smith…
I observed this in the Marvel section but wasn’t 100% sure about what it was.
I was tempted to ask Deadpool but he seemed to be immersed in conversation with fans at the time.
The great Ron English was here but we didn’t see him today. I will have to try again at some point. There are still two days left for me to chance upon him.
These are works by Ozzyoz Da Vyrus, a brand-new name to me but always happy to include someone in these narratives. It’s the Internet so I can run as many chapters as I like after all.
This is Vertabrae33… Watch out now!
One thing I love most about the NYCC is that you never know what you will see and who that you might encounter. One aisle had the publishers of a number of wrestling comics and as result some wrestler cosplays, including a cool one of The Rock.
This however is not a cosplayer at all and instead is the legendary Mick Foley. I was glad to snap him and give a fist bump as well.
Don’t you just love these cool SpongeBob SquarePants toys?
Well what do you know, we’ve hit the “50” images mark once again so let’s call this a wrap on the installment from Day Two. Don’t worry I will be back once again with the rest of it but while you wait, we like to encourage you to participate with us on Social Media. By using the Official PiercingMetal Linktree you can find the outlet on a number of different platforms so if you are on any of the listed ones we ask that you lend us some love as well. It’s the only way to stay ahead these days. Stay tuned for more and thanks for reading.
