Greetings my friends and welcome back to another hopefully exciting installment in our comprehensive coverage of the recent New York Comic Con. I’m up to Day Two Part Three and while I planned on saying this at the close, this will be the final chapter for Day Two. If you’ve only just joined us, please be sure to click NYCC 2024 because I tend to flow in my narratives and each preceding one leads to the current one. Now where were we, oh yeah some cool trinkets that we saw at the Pop Insider booth. We know those folks from their Toy Insider happenings and if you click that hyperlinked text you will be able to see the coverages that have been done for their events.
As you know I don’t continually chime in or sometimes I just abbreviate but this here cosplay of Carter Slade, Ghost Rider was a lot of fun. When I was younger, I loved the Western version of Ghost Rider who had been renamed Night Rider. There was just something cool about him but I digress.
The Tokidoki Pavilion is ALWAYS mobbed. Maybe I will see what they have going on at some point, when the line is not as long that is.
This couple is apparently well known on YouTube but I didn’t manage to catch their names and they were gone before I could get to that. Oh well. Welcome to PiercingMetal famous Tubers.
A charming Spider-Gwen…
This is Mike Aldi, creator of numerous Latin super-heroes.
I never thought I’d see a Hatsune Miyu/Chainsawman mashup cosplay but there we are.
Another new one for me is this Maxima cosplay. That’s a DC Comics character that went head to head with Superman a few times.
Always great to see this comics industry power couple, Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti…
This is Rachta Lin…
Could a collab be brewing with writer Chris Miskiewicz and artist Keith Williams? Tune in next week, same bat time same bat channel. Okay so it’s just a photo op but wouldn’t that be cool? You’re saying yes aren’t you.
The great Michael Golden…
The also great Larry Hama…
A better shot of Erik Larsen. He is ALWAYS working on sketches and I never want to disturb business.
As I exited the convention center for the end of Day Two I wanted to share this sad photo. Back in September, the comic book industry lost artist John Cassaday to a heart attack. Fans will likely remember him most for work on “Planetary”, “Astonishing X-Men”, “Star Wars” and “Captain America”. Rest in Peace John.
Outside there was a drone delivery unit that was emblazoned with art from the upcoming “Venom: The Last Dance” movie.
All in all a productive Day Two of NYCC and who doesn’t want to get a wave goodbye from the Pillsbury Dough Boy.
In the closing installment from the Day One observations I included the images that I was in as well because why not. Over the years I’ve seen other folks with similar badges make the coverage all about themselves and while this isn’t the case with our outlet, I did pause with some of the folks I met along the adventure. First up you see me out of uniform as a potential recruit for the 501st Legion.
Next up I’m with all the Sally’s at the Civil Regime installation. I’d lose those sunglasses minutes later and I was pissed since I did like that pair. Sigh.
Chatting with DMC about coming out of drum retirement to lay it down on his next track or two. Just kidding, that did not even come up in conversation.
A truly Marvel-ous Team-Up of Todd Nauck, Spider-Man and I. Watch out villains.
Last but not least with the legendary Larry Hama. I loved the original GI Joe comic series.
In keeping with the format for this year’s narratives I’m adding the clip from when I first arrived at the convention for Day Two. There are more on the Channel, but these are pretty good to add to narratives like this one.
Okay so as noted way up above, this will be a wrap for the Day Two observations from New York Comic Con. Sadly, I didn’t manage to meet my normal “50” images requirement but that’s mostly based on my having dissected a bunch of images from the day to use for those special features that I hinted at in an earlier post. All of these images for the special features will be along soon enough. I’ll be back tomorrow so do please stay tuned and as I’ve emphasized at the close of our previous installments, I encourage the readership to engage with us on any of our myriad of Social Media platforms via the Official PiercingMetal Linktree. Without your support, this is so much harder to do. See you soon.
