Alright my friends, we are at the halfway point in our adventures at the famed New York Comic Con for 2022. After spending a good amount of hours at the event on Thursday and Friday, I can safely say that its gotten over its pandemic attendance and is closer to being as packed to the rafters as before. I’m starting on the Day Three stuff with this post and since the newbie visitors will have missed a lot of the fun by now I am going to suggest that they click HERE to see everything that has already been posted. I tend to speak in a continuous fashion and sometimes refer to other posts so starting from the get go makes the most sense. Now while I try to only begin snapping pictures once I am inside and ready to go, sometimes I see sights that I must secure in case I don’t see them again. That would be the case with this awesome Stargirl and Doctor Fate who I met on the “7” train heading to Javits.
Now that I was inside the Javits I could do a new “hey we’re here” video short. I’ve honestly been loving doing these as they are so unscripted and fun to load up from this kind of event. I feel I might move forward with this practice at all the events I attend. Can’t hurt right?
So I had mentioned that I was on a bit of a Garbage Pail Kid” trading card giveaway treasure hunt. This is the checklist of the locations where you would hopefully find a card. I had learned yesterday that it was best to go as early as possible. I did have a few already and hope to get the full batch by the end of the convention.
I headed upstairs to the Press Lounge area because like I said in an earlier installment, there were other things going on around that space as well so its nice to be able to check that out and see if there were any cool cosplays to snap images of.
Extra points for the LEGO Batgirl cosplay as this cannot be easy to navigate through the convention in at all. The LEGO Commissioner Gordon only had the head covering.
So now back into the fray we go.
There was a big Dragonball Pavilion with this massive inflatable dragon high above and several statues to take photos of or with. Just don’t touch since these are delicate.
Here’s a fast favorite cosplay and Mother and Daughter team. Each being overtaken by the Carnage and Venom symbiotes. Very nice work, very, very nice work.
Today our friend Barbie Chula was dressed in her Pennywise cosplay and as always she is super terrifying in her presentations. The fangs on this one made it hard for us to catch up beyong hello and see you later but I am glad that I caught her just the same.
Yes my friends you are indeed looking at the one and the only Cassandra Peterson who is most famously known as being “Elvira”. She had a bit of a line to meet her and since she is there to sell autographs and the like I didn’t want to get in the way.
The ComicXposure booth sure had some mature audiences only stuff on display.
Here’s the great Todd McFarlane doing a special signing at the CGC booth. They had staff on hand to witness signings for those folks who wanted to put something in for grading right afterwards.
Stephanie Phillips was doing a signing at the ComiXology booth.
“This Is The Way”…
That brings me to the end of the first part of the Day Three visuals but don’t worry I do have more coming in your direction tomorrow so please stay tuned for that.
