Hello again my friends, I am going to pick up where I left off in the previous installment of extended coverage from the 2022 New York Comic Con. It’s our twelfth time attending and suffice it to say there is a lot to do in the Javits Center over the next few days. The plan remains to inspire your senses with lots of photography and editorial rumblings and the occasional video that will be posted on YouTube. When those are all done I will likely make a few posts to follow the general coverage. So to keep pace with us I suggest that you click HERE since that will open up a window with all of our posts about this years convention.
There was a lot of Anime presence this year and while there generally is, its been uncommon to see this much of it. I don’t mind since more to see.
The Marvel Studios part of the Marvel Entertainment pavilion had the costumes from the “Ms. Marvel” and “Moon Knight” series. Did you watch those two shows? Each offered up something different as they continue to broaden the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now this was very interesting and something that I hope to be able to talk about on the website soon. This is called “Defenders Of The Diamond” and its a series of baseball caps that are modelled after the Marvel Comics characters. I am not the biggest sports person but think that those in our readership who are mght enjoy learning how they can get their hands on these.
The folks from Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum sent over two awesome statues of T’Challa, The Black Panther and Loki. They were impressive.
The Indie Publisher section found D.E. Night, a writer that we interviewed last NYCC. She was super cool.
The folks at Crunchyroll had a big section and there were giveaways and cosplay photo ops and more. I liked the look of this pavilion for sure.
Running out of cash? NYCC sure did have a lot of ATMS on hand for that problem. I never use these myself and prefer to pay everything via mobile but sometimes you are stuck and need the cash. I just don’t like the fees that come with these devices since they are not my own official bank ones.
I headed over to the METV pavilion since they had some cool stuff going on. You could take a selfie in a Svengoolie coffin if you wanted to. I didn’t make the time for that and kinda regretted that decision afterwards.
What really excited me about the METV Pavilion at this time was all the “Lost In Space” stuff that was going on. They had some costumes and props and The Robot was there. Now that was a photo I wanted to take but there were too many people waiting for that. They even had actress Marta Kristen who played Judy on the famous Science-Fiction television series. I grew up on that when it was in reruns since it premiered during my birth year. Good fun stuff for sure. Maybe a little corney by today’s standards but special to me for sure.
These are the Moon Pals and they are super cute and aimed at helping your child with anxiety. That’s a good idea since many of the young ones are on the anxious side these days.
That’s it for our second installment but don’t worry I still have plenty to share from the first day of New York Comic Con before getting into the rest. Remember that we keep it to “50” each post for this event so everyone can relax and enjoy and maybe even find themselves if they are cosplayers or artists that got featured. Remember that we are sharing a lot on the social networks of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and brand-newish TikTok profiles so please make sure that you are following along with those by clicking each of the respective hyperlinked text. See you with more soon, thanks for stopping by.
