Well my friends we have made it safety and somewhat soundly to the fourth and final day of the 2022 New York Comic Con and I cannot believe how fast the days have gone by. Calendar wise the convention ended over a week ago but our presentations keep on posting until we’ve finished with everything. So Day Four is historically known as the “Family Day” and this means that children under a certain age can come in with a special “Kids Pass”. That also means that its now even more crowded on the Sunday than used to only be found on the Saturday session. Now if you are only just joining us we are going to hold up a “You Shall Not Pass” sign and instead suggest that you click HERE to launch a new browser tab with all of the posts that have preceded this one. You’ll thank me later for sure. So today I’ve arrived before the doors were even open because I was on the hunt for the 9th and final Topps “Garbage Pail Kids” trading card. I will have this card if its the last thing that I do LOL.
Soon after the doors opened I raced to Topps and got that coveted card and then did a quick errand for a friend of mine. Now it was time to announce our presence for the day like I’ve been doing in the short clips. For those new to the program, they’ve gone to TikTok, Instagram Reels and of course YouTube which is the one I like to include in these editorials since its one of our most important networks. Please consider subscribing to that to help us along.
Our friend Barbie Chula was actually out in the main lobby area heading somewhere so she saved me the time in looking for her. Loved her Chucky cosplay. This woman is super talented and I am always stoked to see her work IRL.
Artist Michael Golden was quite busy this convention so I didn’t disturb him. I still need to get one of his “Golden” shirts that uses his design of the skull seen on the cover of “Crystar The Crystal Warrior” #8. You Metalheads might know this design as being used by Danzig as well.
Greg Capullo and Scott Snyder had quite a line for their booth signing. Was glad there was a pause in the activity so I could get them both together.
This is Rachta Lin and she is super talented and delightful in person.
Much of my plan today was to spend more time in Artist Alley and apparently a lot of other people had the same idea. This was not going to be easy to navigate but I am not new at this so let’s move.
I just love this giant Gundam statue.
I don’t know who this cosplay is supposed to be but wow it looks amazing. I think I would hate being inside this since I’ve gotten so used to checking my mobile like every minute when at an event like this one.
Back over at the MeTV booth was Sventoonie and his co-host Toony. We also saw Blob E there but he was on the quiet side. I need to watch more MeTV.
The fine folks you see here are the owners of Ghostboy Co. They make some really cool designs and one in particular that is a favorite features pizza.
This is cosplayer Alyson Tabbitha who falls under the Influencer role of such things. She had such a long line and couldn’t stop to chat but next time I will look into adding her to the videos that I do at the convention. I think that would be interesting since this is someone with some serious social media numbers. Learning her perspective on such an event might be educational to some who wish to follow in this path.
Thank the gods that the Scooby Doo Mystery Team was on point and catching the bad guys. I didn’t see Scoob anywhere though.
Santa was here and looking around. It’s always great to see him but you better watch out if you’ve been naughty.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Destiny cosplay. This was awesome for me.
We stopped by the Sumerian Comics booth again to see what was up and were able to catch a group shot with Sumerian Records head Ash Avildsen.
That’s going to bring me to the end of the first part of the Day Four presentation but don’t you worry I do have some more for a second installment and will look into seeing if I can hammer out a third. My parsing out those special features images is making the DTD convention posts a bit less than I’ve shown before. I will say that its more important to showcase things especially as this convention is closer to the ones of the past than the last one.
