Welcome back my friends and as promised I am here with you nice and early to get back into the presentations of my adventures at the 2021 New York Comic Con. I’ll be starting with my Day Two photographs and notes so if you missed anything just click HERE to launch a new browser tab with everything that has come before. My first photo is of a cosplaying violinist that we chanced upon down at the Hudson Yards “7” train.
The banner is welcoming all the patrons for the day and this wide shot is one that I often do at this event.
Usually this visual below is so packed with people that you cannot see the floor. Yesterday was not as crowded as one normally expect the NYCC to be but as I mentioned a number of vendors were not present this year. From what I have learned since yesterday there was no Marvel, DC Entertainment, Valiant, Image Comics, Dynamite, Mezco Toyz and Funko. That’s a lot of major exhibitors absent.
Now its time to start sharing the cosplaying coolness that was encountered as the Friday part of the convention got underway. This Black Cat and Scarlet Witch really rocked.
The Evil Doctor Strange from “What If”.
It’s always great to stop by the booth of DMC, that’s Darryl McDaniels who most know from being a member of Run DMC. Darryl has a cool booth and is always willing to chat with the fans. We always take a photo together and then talk a little music. Next time I will record this since its good interview stuff.
Talk about a titanic team-up DMC and Keith Williams. Let’s get a chrome embossed cover on that debut issue.
The queue to the main hall was empty at the moment but it gets really crowded depending on the program in the hall.
The Z2 Comics booth was a hot spot this weekend because they’ve been putting out some stellar graphic novels and this is the signing by Mikey Way from My Chemical Romance.
This dangerous Predator cosplay is once again our friend Barbie Chula. The detail of the costume is amazing and one can only imagine how big her closet is.
Always happy to see legendary comics writer and industry icon Jim Shooter. The next shot is Al Milgrom. When I got there Mr. Shooter was signing stacks of “Secret Wars” comics for a few fans. Oddly enough I seldom seek signatures on my comic books. Do you like that stuff? You can tell me in the comments later on if you like.
I’ll close these visuals up with this oddly comfortable inflatable chair by Yogibo. I liked it but don’t have the space for something like this in the living room so will just settle for the couch I have.
That’s going to bring me to the end of the first installment from Day Two and I sure hope you enjoyed it. I will be back tomorrow and present the second dose of it all as we head towards Day Four. Don’t forget to follow PiercingMetal on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube so you don’t miss a second of the fun. See you next time.
