Welcome back my friends to some more coverage of the 2022 Flame Con. This LGBTQ+ Comic Convention is the longest and largest running of its kind and comes care of the folks over at GeeksOUT. This was their first time back since the 2019 event based on the pandemic and I was only able to attend on the first day due to a really hectic schedule for the website. I’ll pick up where I left off with the remaining images. Join me now as we return to the Times Square Sheraton. Starting us off is this Harley Quinn cosplay.
This cool spectre-like cosplayer was very reminiscent of the “Force Ghosts” from the Star Wars mythology.
Assorted Enterprise-ing cosplayers were in attendance.
Mischief Corner Books was on point with a LOT of books.
This charming individual was one of the many volunteers that were helping all around the event. Both the organizers and them all wore capes. I decided that attending press should also wear capes but they might have to be brought from our own command HQ’s and not issued by the GeeksOUT folks ;p
Another “Stranger Things” Metalhead cosplay. I don’t mind the look at all but it makes me wonder about just how many of these I will run into at the New York Comic Con this October.
The Northstar cosplay was for sure on point for Flame Con. Did you know that in the first series of the “Alpha Flight” title, Northstar declared that he was gay. This had never been done in a Marvel Comic series before and I can’t say that I even recall when it happened again. FYI this issue boosted sales of “Alpha Flight” despite it being cancelled soon after. Nice job on the cosplay.
So that’s going to wrap up my return to the Flame Con adventuring and I hope that you liked what you saw. I do have fun at this one and also enjoy meeting the new vendors and artists that might not do the other cons that I go to.
