Hello my friends and welcome back to PiercingMetal’s in-depth exploration of the Anime NYC convention that was taking over the Javits Center for the weekend. The event started yesterday and I’m going to begin showcasing the sights from Day Two right now. Now I should stress that while you are seeing my Day Two short clip down below, it was recorded after the barrage of images that follow it. You can check that out after making sure you have seen the earlier posts that were done from the convention by clicking HERE. Doing that will launch a new browser tab with all of the related Anime NYC 2022 posts. Now let’s get on down to businss.
So as I said just up above, I was in the main lobby for a little while before heading inside since so many awesome cosplayers were gathering and doing their meet-up thing for group photos.
Now inside the main expo hall, it was time to explore and one of the first folks that we met was this cosplayer dressed as a cloud. I’ve seen this outfit before at New York Comic Con but on a different cosplayer.
The Viz pavilion had a whole mess of awesome giveaways. A “Chainsaw Man” poster, a “Shonen Jump” notepad and a “Pokemon” comic book. They let me take one of each which was very nice.
Figpin was here as well and these two ornate collectibles were the convention exclusives for this years event. I love Figpin but only have a few of them. I have the set featuring the Hottest Band in The World KISS and the legendary David Bowie.
Here’s a regular sized Luffy from One-Piece…

As was present over the last few events, there were a healthy amount of card that were all wrapped in popular Anime characters.
The Senpai Squad booth had a number of popular cosplayers like Animasian78. She is super cute but be advised that the photos she sometimes posts are at times NSFW.
There were convention schematics posted around the event space and they were somewhat helpful. I wouldn’t be following any sort of path and instead do an aisle by aisle approach to the happening.
I didn’t mention this in the Day One posts but as you can see, the attendees were advised that masking up was mandated for the whole convention. This was also the case for the recent New York Comic Con but it was unenforceable. I don’t mind wearing a mask at times after working in COVID safety but its on a case by case basis for me.
Alright so I will wrap up the first installment from the Day Two adventuring here and leave you anxious for some more. Sorry fiends but you must wait since this is how I’ve been doing these convention coverage posts for years now. I will remain consistent in this next part because today the social media numbers and engagement matter so very much. Please make sure to be following along and participating with any of the PiercingMetal social networks because that helps firm your interest.
