At the time of our posting this, there are hundreds and hundreds of Metalheads making their way to a place called The Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia for the annual ProgPower USA Heavy Metal music festival which actually is starting later on today. While these fans are getting ready to rock, we caught wind of a promotional video for next years 3rd and 4th day and are sharing it with you below so you know what we are both missing out on at the moment and how excited we should be for next years happening. Watch the video to see clips of all the announced bands. It’s a bit long but I found it rather enjoyable so you should as well. Here we go.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Historically speaking, I’ve never once attended the ProgPower USA events despite being interested in doing so a number of times. I did have tickets to go one year, which I think was when Iced Earth was one of the headliners but something came up at the last minute which found me selling them to another diehard Metalhead. The revealed roster does intrigue me quite a bit since we not only get what would amount to a stunning Queen presentation by Jeff Scott Soto but there is also the return of the great Roy Khan who many of you might remember as the voice of Kamelot for a number of years. These are only two of the wealth of other highlights for sure like The Gathering who I don’t think have been stateside in almost a decade and Ihsahn who I don’t think has ever been here as a solo act. Beast In Black is getting a LOT of buzz and deservedly so and let’s not forget the ovewhelming musical vibe that will come from Turilli/Lione: Rhapsody….Whew. I just might have to find myself in Georgia next September. If I do go, I know that I will recognize a lot of faces since I see PPUSA shirts at so many of the shows that I regularly attend. It would give me something cool to write about here on the website as well, so let’s see what happens both financially and scheduling wise. I’ll close up now since I’ve so much else to do here but I wonder what you readers think about this first announcement for the next years event. I guess we can count on a Day 1 and Day 2 video in the near future and when that comes to light I will share it here as well. Stay tuned and don’t forget to comment in down in the comments area.
