Earlier today, President Donald J. Trump announced the honorees for the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors. The announcement can be viewed via the embedded video from CBS News and the nominations include Country superstar, George Strait, singer Gloria Gaynor, actors Sylvester Stallone and Michael Crawford, and “The Hottest Band In The World”, KISS.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: As you most probably know, we don’t get political at all over here on the PiercingMetal website and we leave that kinda stuff to our more incendiary friends on competing sites. So while it’s true that DJT is a divisive force, I am 100% okay with his decision to honor my very favorite band of all time KISS. In the newsfeed video the President only brings up the original four founding members which I am totally okay with. It will be nice to see them all on the same stage accepting the medals. I believe this will all be going down in early December or so, which makes it two years after the band called it a day on the bombastic performances. Both Ace and Peter have been out of the band for many years at this point and Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer were part of the lineup that called it a day. I’m unsure if these four together would do any kind of performance but who knows, stranger things have happened. I should point out that I am not slighting the other honorees by not paying some focus on them and when I began typing I was unsure which site to put this on. Since KISS was involved I opted for PiercingMetal since its a good item for Google traction and even after our own 20th Anniversary, you still need to vie for position out there on the web.
