Greetings my friends, we’ve arrived at the time of the year where people get to showcase their “Top Nine” images on Instagram and this reveal is done when they tabulate all of the likes across your profiles posts. Though I used Instagram quite a bit this past year I really fell behind based on just how many events I was attending. There is only so much time in the day and with major events like the Toy Fair, New York Comic Con and Anime NYC being so loaded with visuals I had my hands full. I’m going to maintain that I felt that I used this social network more than any of the other ones and I often share the images over to our Facebook and Twitter pages to spark up additional engagement. Let’s review.
About These Visuals:
Starting from the top row and working down we’ve got an amazing Nebula cosplayer from the New York Comic Con, the legendary Michael Schenker from a performance at Irving Plaza and a scene from the “Dio Returns” hologram show from afar. Next there is Miku Kobato of the all-girl Japanese Rock band Band-Maid, an amazing black and white statue of Batman from DC Collectibles and a Dave Mustaine from Megadeth statue from Knucklebonz. The last row is more live stuff with faraway visuals from the Original Misfits show and the Stryper show. Closing it all up is a popular cosplayer named Destiny Fomo. Though I was quite happy with the choices, I did expect a few different ones to be presented but the masses have spoken. All photos were taken by me of course. Now let’s examine some of the finer points about the account.
Statistically Speaking:
In early 2019 I decided to make the PiercingMetal Instagram a Business Profile once again because I wanted to see where everyone was coming from and what some of the ratios were. At the time of this posting, the profile has 1,642 Followers and according to the breakdown we have 57% Men and 43% Woman tuning in. Though the ages range from 13-65, the strongest concentration in the demographic is 25-44 years of age. In 2019, these followers and the curious onlookers helped us achieve 19.8K “Likes” for the postings. There are currently 8.2K images loaded onto the profile.
Geography: As a NYC based outlet that attends a LOT of concerts and conventions in NYC, I was not surprised at all to find this as our biggest area of influence. It seems to account for almost 80% of the visiting with the rest falling to Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Toronto and Helsinki.
Three Photos I Wanted To Be Top Nine: Having mentioned that some of the presented images were a surprise to me, I am going to start featuring three Instagram posts that I would have liked to see as a part of my Top Nine for the year. Starting from the top it’s a faraway shot from the night that KISS invaded Brooklyn with their “End Of The Road” World Tour stop at Barclays Center. Then there is a spiffy cool shot of my winter beard which I had never sported before. Based on the reaction my friends had to this look I expected it to be in the mix. Last but certainly not least, my beloved feline Spooke. She doesn’t always appear on this profiles Instagram and when she does all the visitors like her.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: As you might have observed, I pretty much let the assorted conventions take over the profile this past year and that was because we attended something like “10” of them. Sure I did a lot of concert stuff but I decided that I wanted all of that on my websites Facebook to get the engagement moving in an upward direction. Most of you know that there are big changes coming to Instagram based on their being a fully owned property of Facebook and now they use the same crippling algorithm. They are also looking to eliminate the view of Public Likes so if a photo of mine has 10K likes on it, you will not see this and only myself or an account administrator for the outlet will. It’s now more important than ever for our supportive fans to share news that we are out there and like the heck out of the posts so the climb keeps happening. 2020 will find PiercingMetal reaching its 15th Anniversary and by that date in April, I expect to have more than 10K images to enjoy on our Instagram. Thanks to everyone who is helping this account. Onward to 2020 we go and if you aren’t following the assorted social networks just check the links down below to rectify that. We’d love to have you along on most of them.
