The Toy Association’s Toy Fair just wrapped up its 2025 Trade Show at the Javits Center and this event found them bringing the show back to the first quarter of the year after doing one in the Fall of 2023. They would bypass 2024 entirely to reframe and recalibrate the affair and I was excited to be bringing the PiercingMetal website into the mix once again. I’ve been attending with the outlet since 2011 which made the most recent event my 12th year of attending in a professional capacity. Over the last few years I’ve been using the Piercing Ken website for some additional Toy Fair coverage and since there was so much to document over these last few days that process will continue. I’ll also be using the Ken Pierce Media website to tie everything together as that has seemed to work out well when both sides of the creative coin are being utilized. My plan for PiercingMetal documentation is to do a number of exhibitor spotlight posts until I’m done with the stuff that our readership likes and then I’ll add in any of the videos that have been done for YouTube to wrap it up. I will probably do my standard of no more than “50” images in each post since that has helped me work with things like the New York Comic Con very well. Let’s begin.

Upon walking into the Javits Center one couldn’t help but notice the impressive Formula 1 race car that the folks from Mattel had set up right there in the lobby. It was promoting one of their latest offerings for “Hot Wheels”.

As the sun and glare made it hard to capture the visual of the smaller version.

On the other side of the Crystal Palace lobby, we found a stunning LEGO presentation of a McLaren Formula 1 race car. The customer version of this is a part of their “Technic” line of building kits. Very involved and on the pricy side for reference.

I had to snag an additional visual based on the giant Pikachu hanging above. This was an easy place to find colleagues by saying “Meet Me Under The Pikachu”.

Here’s the entrance to one section of the Expo Floor. It’s also downstairs and even up in the River Pavilion. I wasn’t heading in there just yet and wanted to look around a little more before getting into appointments.

This was pretty awesome. Down on the lower lobby we found a massive Monster Truck which is part of the Spin Master “Monster Jam” line of vehicles. They really look cool and I was a good distance away from the “Sparkle Smash” in order to get her into the photo.

They also had a spec sheet about “Monster Jam” and though I’ve never seen one of these events before I admit that I am on the curious side. It would be something I’d cover for the Piercing Ken side of the fence if I went so maybe at some point this year I can investigate it. Of course the coverage for Piercing Metal remains the most important for the most part.

We also saw a healthy rack of the “Monster Jam” line from Spin Master. Like I said these are really cool and especially if your younger set enjoys cars and trucks.

There was also a wonderful display of the Rubiks Cube from Spin Master. They had this in an almost DJ Booth setting. Have you ever solved the puzzle? I’ve come close but never finished it myself.

Another slightly closer look at the Hot Wheels Formula 1 from Mattel before I get down to business.

Here’s an awesome Megalodon Shark from Schleich. I generally talk about these over on Piercing Ken but didn’t mind it being a part of this first visual overview at all. The Megalodon is the prehistoric version of the Great White Shark unless I am mistaken. This one has a very “Jaws” look to it which appealed to me. Did you know that the classic film is 50 years old this year.

I don’t know what this chap was supposed to be and wondered if he was just a few months early for the New York Comic Con. Either way, it was time to go inside.

This Infinity Gauntlet from Hot Toys was very impressive. Fortunately I don’t have room in the apartment for such things.

Gentle Giant Studios had a lifesize replica of the very first Boba Fett action figure. This figure was originally available by mailing proof of purchase coupons from other “Star Wars” figures of the time. He was also supposed to have a rocket firing mechanism but that was changed before mass production. I know I have one somewhere.

Rubies had the new Superman costume on display. Hopes are high for this film which opens in July. Will this be the summer blockbuster? Only time will tell.

Here’s a visual of the Ty pavilion. They make the Beanie Babies and more. We don’t cover them all that much these days unless they have a lot of superhero stuff.

The folks at LEGO also had an impressive display, this was a full park with probably tens of thousands of bricks making up most of its contents. I did have an appointment with them but there was no photography permitted so I’ll just share some of the Batman releases that were on display that I found to be interesting.

Quick shot of the Press Center. It’s here where the media folks gather their wits, check messages and rest between appointments. Fortunately they had coffee service and some Danish and fruit. This year there were a lot of the influencer kids present at Toy Fair and they never used to be in attendance since its a business show. The times they are a changing.

What I’m going to do now is share some of the visuals from booths where I didn’t secure a whole lot of content. That happens sometimes at an event like this and while I’m not sure why I did only one image at Banpresto, here it is.

I first chanced upon the Robosen products at one of the New York Comic Cons and they blew me away. They have a number of the Transformers that function in the same manner as their amazing Decepticon Leader Megatron. They didn’t bring a big presentation and I saw them right near Funko.

Since we know that a lot of our readers are enamored with the Pokémon brand, we were a little put off by the inability to secure any kind of appointment or even convince the guardian at the entrance to let some photography happen for inclusion. I’ll show him in a moment but first a couple of shots of their dragon which I understand is called the “Charizard”. I’m not up on this particular franchise so don’t flame me for that unawareness.

The Pokémon booth sentry who sounded like Gandalf to me in my head with the whole “You Shall Not Pass”. The sentry didn’t speak at all but there was still no passing him. Apologies to those that might have been interested in some Pokémon product visuals in our Toy Fair coverage. Maybe next time.

I first encountered the Transformers awesome that comes from the folks at Yolopark and here are a few brief visuals from their booth. Apologies for not making them a larger focus next year. I will make sure to correct that oversight next year if the outlet gets approval to attend Toy Fair 2026.

Now let’s slip over to our friends at Neca. On a normal day I could spend hours in their booth but when I paid my visit it was very crowded with sales being discussed and I don’t like to get in the way of that. So I quickly focused on some of the things that interested me the most. First up are some new “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” items.

NECA also makes some amazing music action figures like the Misfits Fiend and assorted Eddies of Iron Maiden Fame. I know you want all of these and well, so do I. They even have a Willie Nelson figure which I liked but will leave possession to his own diehards.

There is a nice assortment of Elvira figures and who among you that loves Horror doesn’t keep a special place in your black heart for her.

The film “Jaws” will celebrate its 50th Anniversary this year and now the classic film has a few toys for those diehard fans. There is a Quint and Hooper action figure but not a Brody at this time. They also have revisited the classic game where you fished items out of the sharks mouth before it chomped on you. I had this game and it was not as detailed as this one is. I sure do wish that I had these things still but alas.

Outside of the NECA booth stood several amazing statues of Batman, Deadpool, Harley Quinn, Gremlins and Aliens. These were popular photo ops for the attendees at Toy Fair but please, DO NOT TOUCH.

I’ll wrap this first installment up with the items that I saw from the folks over at 100% Soft. I’ve seen them before at events like the Five Points Festival which happens in June over at the ZeroSpace and still a lot of what is happening in the world is considered to be a “Dumpster Fire” I just couldn’t resist sharing these cute offerings. I actually own the first one and think that I will add the “This Is Fine” dog to the collection next time around
