Last week, PiercingMetal was once again invited to participate in the annual “Sweet Suite”, a mega-toy preview event held by the fine folks over at The Toy Insider. Today’s affair would be held at a brand-new event space to my list called The Glass House. If memory serves me correctly, I’ve been attending the groups events since 2016 and now the coverage spans across all three of my websites. The more adult collector stuff gets shown here and now its time to share some of the videos that were done at the event. Starting off is the amazing “Transformers” robots from Robosen. These are so damned cool.

As you heard in the video, these Robosen creations are a tad pricy and definitely more for the discerning collector than your average fan of these “Robots In Disguise”. I’ve always been a fan of the two major characters but now its onto the display that LEGO brought to the event. They had a nice setup with a little of everything and since there is a bunch of the more advanced builder sets I ran the video on the PiercingMetal side of things.

I don’t own any of the LEGO building sets but do have a couple of assembled pieces that I got at trade shows over the years. I love the mini-figures and think the stuff we just showed you rocks. Now onto these “Deddy Bears”. I saw them a couple of years ago and think this super creepy and cute idea is a winner. I ran this on PiercingMetal’s YouTube as well since we Metalheads can still appreciate cuteness, and especially when its represented by a zombie, mummy or werewolf teddy bear.

These are truly awesome and so highly collectible. You know you want them so just admit it. Now the folks at Playmates Toys were also present and I didn’t do a longer form video from their section and instead only these two Shorts. I expect to see them again if we get an invite to the Toy Insider’s “Holiday Of Play” event that will take place in September but these Shorts bring you the stuff I am most interested in from the company. I’m talking of course about their “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” line. They also had some Miraculous Ladybug but she was sadly left out of these briefs.
Last but not least is our friends at Bandai which also utilizes the Shorts model. While their booth was nicely sized, I focused on their “Godzilla”, “Ultraman” and Anime provisions.
That’s going to wrap up my video features from the Toy Insider’s “Sweet Suite” for 2024 and I thank the team for having me along once again. The event space was pretty nice as well and had a cool balcony that looked at The Intrepid but it was about a thousand degrees out today so I limited my outside time as much as possible. Feel free to chime in down below in the comments to let me know what items you enjoyed learning about the most. See you next time and don’t forget that there will be some additional “Sweet Suite” coverage being posted over on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” website as well. The clips for that side of things will begin to premiere after all of my Artexpo New York videos have finished. Trust me you’ll love it.
