It was only a few short days ago that the PiercingMetal High Command had the honor of attending The Toy Insider’s annual “Holiday Of Play” event for 2025. Historically speaking, I’ve been one of the media voices at this and their “Sweet Suite” since 2016 and I look forward to these happenings every year. Nowadays, most of my coverage of the Toy Insider soirees gets posted over on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” but when there are brands that we normally feature on PiercingMetal I make sure to get them the attention from our audience that they deserve. Playmates Toys and Bandai Namco were both at this year’s HOP. Let’s explore.
I’ve talked about Playmates Toys over and over here on the website based on their releases like “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, “Godzilla X Kong” and “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”. For “Holiday Of Play” they only brought out one of the TMNT Battle Wagons, Power Rangers and Winx Club.

I always love seeing any of the Turtles stuff as I’ve been a fan of the franchise for quite some time. I was one of the collectors of the original comics when they were being released on Mirage Studios. This cool vehicle fits all four of the regular sized Turtles. Cowabunga Dudes!
While this is not at all a slight, I never really took to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and I am not sure why since its a little bit super-hero a little bit Science Fiction and there are often Kaiju involved. The action figures and accessories that they brought to HOP are really cool items though.
Though the “Stuntman Stu” and the “Winx Club” are more for the Piercing Ken demographic, I am including them here to be able to feature Playmates on one site alone this time. I did that with the Toy Fair 2025 coverage as well if you might remember. If you don’t its not a big deal as I’ll place a link down below.
The “Stuntman Stu” stuff reminds me of the classic Evel Knievel toys I played with as a boy and these Winx Club dolls are just amazing looking when you see them up close. This is more of a girls item but hey there is no judgement if the lads want them as well. You folks at home should even be able to scan that QR Code and see what comes up. I won’t tell you as that is a surprise.
Before we move onto the next part of the fun remember that Playmates Toys makes a whole lot of awesome Godzilla products and even continues to hold the license for the Miraculous Ladybug. Now for a quick look see at the stuff that Bandai Namco brought out to HOP.
For me the highlight was their smaller scale action figures as I tend to like the ones about 4.4″ to 6″ tall over the larger ones or even the too small one. Their “Anime Heroes” line brought out the “One Piece”, “Naruto” and “Chainsaw Man” properties.
I think that I need this Chainsaw Man. Such an interesting character. I am going to admit that I have no real background in “One Piece” or “Naruto” despite their popularity.
They even had cool Yo-Yo’s and were giving samples away to the attendees. The sample bag even included a comic book which made it all the more special in my eyes.
Now I should tell you that the folks at LEGO brought out much more than this Decepticon Soundwave building set but all of the rest of the items were better lined out over on Piercing Ken so that is where you can see them.
That’s going to find me wrapping up on the kind of stuff that keys into our main demographic here at the PiercingMetal site but don’t you worry, I will have a greater number of posts from this fun-filled affair over on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. Though I’m still working on all of that and the subsequent videos, you can click HERE to bring up a new browser tab of the posts. Now I know that I mentioned the Toy Fair finds at Playmates Toys and Bandai Namco so if you click the hyperlinked text the first part of each companies articles will open on a new browser tab. I hope that you enjoyed this presentation as much as I enjoyed participating in another fun Toy Insider event. See you with more something else soon enough.
