Hey there my friends, its once again time to talk a little bit about some website social media and to share how happy I am when we hit a new plateau on it. Now over the years I’ve mentioned that PiercingMetal has been on the Instagram platform since 2012 and I have been posting on it with an almost daily routine. Yesterday, the PiercingMetalNYC profile published the 11,000th photo and based on how much of a backlog I have its very likely I will be back soon to talk about the 12K one. While I’ve been finishing up all of my New York Comic Con images that I got sidelined from completing based on life, I paused them to let the 11K photograph be something pretty awesome in its own right. Back in October of 2023, I got to enjoy an amazing concert by Yoshiki and after the show was one of his many guests at a small gathering. To make it even better, I was able to get a quick photograph with him and tell him just how much the show moved me right to his face. If you’re someone who is saying “Who is Yoshiki”, please head to YouTube and enjoy some of his amazing work and then come back to thank me later. Meeting such a musician and having a few moments of chat time just had to be the visual for the 11,000th Instagram and I think you’d agree with me on that.

In the post when I talked about the 10,000th Photo I shared the profiles very first one and since that was almost two years ago I’ve decided to share that down below once again. I logged into Instagram for the very first time while heading to the Nightwish show at the Beacon Theatre. They were joined by Kamelot as support and these were two bands that I began writing about when the website had launched in 2005 so the marquee for the night gets a showcase once more. My how much has happened since then and much of it being shared with the audience via images like the ones on Instagram as a compliment to the journalism and being a bit of a Pop Culturist. Where you at this show?

So before I wrap this one up I’m going to assume that most of the people out there reading this have a profile of their own on Instagram and to those that do, please help the efforts of the outlet by giving the profile a follow. I’m also going to ask you to click the little heart on as many photos as you can and comment on them from time to time since in addition to numbers, the engagement is what really helps stuff like this work. Sadly there are those who purchase followers and have very little content on their profiles and believe it or not one gets gauged against those from time to time. As you scroll the feed you will notice that its a whole lot of Pop Culture stuff like the New York Comic Con and related events. Over the last few years, the PiercingMetal website has embraced its geek side in full and that finds those visuals taking over our feed every now and again. You will not find 100 selfies in a month from us or use of other peoples photographs or droning on about the woes of the day. I’m here to entertain you with this stuff and that’s why I ask that you come along with me for the ride. Another point of interest in Instagram is the Reels. These are short form videos that they have been pushing. It’s kind of like TikTok and YouTube Shorts while at the same time being different from them. I keep these to be under a minute so I can use the clip across other platforms and they’re a lot of fun to do. At the time of this Social Media Milestone, the PiercingMetal website is a little over two months away from its 19th Anniversary and I’ll be doing some kind of summary about that as well. We are closing in on 8.5K Posts on the site and the aim is to get as close to 9K as possible but its not all that easy to do. Okay that’s it, see you over on The Gram. Be sure to come follow and do engage with us since I love to go back and forth with the comments when I see them. Thanks to all who are already supporting this side of the creative coin, we greatly appreciate you. See you next time.
