Welcome back my fellow Comic Book fans, I am so glad that you could once again join us for the documenting of this years Comic Con. It is without question one of the most daunting things I had ever attended as a member of the media because I wanted to bring you into the Javits Center with my words and images and I think that I have managed to do so with the previous five chapters in the tale. Don’t worry, you can take a deep breath now, as this will be the final chapter about the Con and you can return to your day in peace when we are done. Let’s get this party started. The other day we met up with the Aexeous Robot and he was something impressive to behold. Today he was out in the main lobby demonstrating for the fans what he can do and how he reacts to their presence. There was a crowd around him when I was snapping away, when suddenly he was looking right at me. Kinda creepy I will say that much.

Here is another shot from a little farther away. A “safer” distance of course.

Since I had done so much of the “work” over the previous two days, I decided to just let loose at the end of the adventure and snap a lot of Cosplayers.

This pair was on their way to the Anime Festival so I followed.

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

And caught up with these two ladies who were leaving said Anime Festival. Nice designs.

More Anime Madness

This next pair of Cosplayers were right out of Alice In Wonderland and I guess we are seeing both the rabbit who was late, late, for an important date and Alice herself.

Another beautiful “Girl Wonder” Robin

Now this next one has a big saw. I should move on.

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

A cute outfit

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

Some kind of warrior

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

and a crew of Cosplayers that I only knew had a Batman among them

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

At this point I was wandering around the Food Court since I was famished but instead of eating I just kept taking photos of the amazing costumes I saw. Like this robot for instance.

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

The ‘Bot had Friends. We snapped them also.

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

Here comes another Poison Ivy and maybe the Goth from NCIS?

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

Here’s Domino and Deadpool from X-Force/Cable/X-Men but I have never before seen the merc with a mouth dressed in white. I must really be behind in the character’s history. Oh well. That happens.

I think this is a Spider-Girl from the future. She reminded me of an actress I know, so I snapped her

Here’s a cool crew of Anime Maniacs

As I wandered by the “Where Monsters Dwell” booth I learned that singer Michale Graves (formerly of The Misfits) was there. WMD is apparently a blog/radio show that focuses on the Horror and Science Fiction genre. We see Michale holding a copy of his newest CD “Illusions”. He was kind enough to give us a photograph which he even signed.

Next up a few more G.I. Joes as Scarlet and Snake Eyes were on patrol and likely looking for the recently observed Baroness and her Cobra soldiers.

More happenings at the signing tables.

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

Here are two twin Cosplayers, Miss Alex and Juli Abene who are no stranger to the Conventions

The twins had someone else with them who I wasn’t able to get the attention of for a shot. So on I went. Next up, a solitary microphone sits at an empty signing table

“Avengers Assemble”

Ms. Marvel and Wonder Man

Here is Chrissie Zullo, the artist behind DC Comic’s “Cinderella” and “Madame Xanadu”. I don’t know much about the first book but a friend secured me a few issues of the second and I like how she portrays the character. In my opinion, this is a DC Universe entity that always needed more depth and use. Nice work Chrissie, you rock.

Here’s a better display of some of the books Chrissie was offering the attendees of the Con.

Next up is the one and only Amanda Connor. She had a line from hell waiting to see her and this was justified. I think Amanda’s work is fantastic, so its nice to see everyone lining up to meet her at this kind of function.

Not far from Amanda was Mr. Ben Templesmith who teased me about how to take a photo. We had light issues around this time so he was running with it. Nice chap.

This felt like a video game come to life. Here we find Magneto and Dragon Ball Z Cosplayers ready.

Here was something, err someone interesting. This is a living, breathing piece of art as this young lady was done up by artist Andy Golub. Needless to say she was making a good impression on the comic fans all around her. Sadly, she would not be taking any phone numbers today. Where was she going to put them?

Andy Golub's Painted Lady

Here is another view of this young lady. We snared photos of her with the Powerglove guys as well, but you will have to check that blog post to enjoy them. I think this event was a little overwhelming for her.

I had wandered into the lobby area again and for lack of a better term refer to these next few photos as the Ladies Of Comic Con or the “Wall Of Women” since my camera was put to use something fierce for a few moments.

Batgirl and Poison Ivy

I was surprised to see as many Poison Ivy’s as I did today but not Batgirl. This next lass would be my second Black Cat though. Love that character and happy to see her presented at the Con.

Here is a great Lara Croft, the Tomb Raider

Sadly, I don’t know what this girl was supposed to be, but she does love Anime

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

Back inside the Con, I chanced upon yet another “Slave Leia” cosplayer, but believe me I am not complaining. She did good but I think I am leaning on the other one from day two as being my favorite.

My lack of Anime knowledge left me curious for this cool cats

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

but I knew who this was without hesitation. He was pretty grim to boot.

The Batman

Check it out, its Erik Larsen, creator of The Savage Dragon. I did like this book when it originally came out and I also liked what Larsen had done with Spider-Man when he was working on that book so long ago.

Here are a couple of more Femme Fatale’s

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

Some more fatal females and I think a Daisy Dukes.

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

Now here is a heroic team if I ever saw one. The great Captain America, Camy and Chun-Li. All are poised for the attack, and to defend the likes of mere mortals all around them.

We caught up with our friend Sanna who was in epic battle at the time of this shot.

And nothing wrong with a little bit of Wonder Woman

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

One more since she did such a nice job of it

Once More Wonder Woman

And wow, believe it or not, one more Wonder Woman with some sort of Cat Man Mutant Rocker

Well my fiends, that brings us to the end of this little adventure and wow what an insane but fun three days it had been. I do so hope that you enjoyed our presentation of it and we thank you for sticking around and reading it all. There are so many talented people involved in this and it was my mission to say something about a whole lot of them. The shot below shows some of the crowd filtering out of the Javits Center and the larger mass of humanity had already headed home.

The Crowd Filters Out

The banner above the escalators leading us back to the “real world” thanked us for attending and I will definitely plan on being here next year if my schedule permits me to do so.

Good Night and Good Luck, See You Next Year

Even though I thought I had escaped the maw of costumed cosplayers, I was incorrect in that assumption as these two lovelies suggested I look into a comic book that they were repping for.

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010
New Gen Spokesgirl 1

So the comic they were sponsoring was called New Gen, but they didn’t have sample issues or anything for me to take, so I am unclear on the rest. That was to be understood since the Con was essentially over.

There is apparently a new Avengers cartoon airing on one of the networks, and I will be setting my DVR for that one for sure. I hope its good and not going to leave me wanting like the “Teen Titans” show did when I gave it a glance.

Here’s a chainsaw toting nun wandering the lobby

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

Here is our new friend with the super cool hair from the other day. I later learned that her name is Antoinette Johnson. She is an artist so I will be watching out for her. She should be easy enough to spot.

ny comic con, ny comic con 2010

Outside it seemed as though the spirit of the weekend was continuing as I glanced this Catwoman perched upon one of the concrete wall. She seemed ready to pounce.

What was funny about the photo was as people stopped to snap the image one of the NYPD wandered up and said “OK gang, the convention is over, it’s time to go home”. Such a killjoy, not like anything was going on with this crowd. The only downside for me was not getting to see the mighty Stan Lee in the flesh, as he was here briefly but the lines to meet him were insane beyond insane. He deserves the attention but it would have been nice to shake his hand. I also didn’t get to see the creator’s of the “Eternal Descent” comics which feature some popular Metal musicians as characters. Maybe next year for that stuff. Let’s see what happens.
