Welcome back my friends and here we go with Part 3 of our Day One coverage of the 2014 NY Comic Con. I’ll skip any dancing around with any pre-thoughts and just get down to business. My last chapter for Day One begins with what I observed at the Bandai pavilion and as you see they were putting the Red Power Ranger to good use while he was here and not out saving the universe. Thanks Red Ranger, I will indeed take a flyer from you. Let’s get to to work.
The Bandai pavilion had you being put to task to try and win some prizes. I didn’t try myself since I had so many other visuals to focus on today. They had lots of action figures around for fans to secure.
Here’s one of the Metal Legions that I see at shows all the time. I was officially spotted at NY Comic Con. Maybe I should bring along some CD’s next time for those who manage to locate me in the myriads of people out there.
Bandai also had this empty action figure display which let the fans jump into the box and appear to be an action figure of themselves. This was a popular item when I passed by so I had to snap my photograph quick.
This Prince Namor, The Sub-Mariner cosplay was spot on but clearly offered no place for ones mobile device. Talk about needing an assistant for the Con.
And now for a group shot with some lovely ladies both hero and villain.
Just a few shots of the massive space around us. Javits Center always impresses and amazes me.
This charming dance hall girl was helping rep some sort of Western themed thing but I did not catch what it was based on my rushing about. Processing any data is always an issue at Con. Too much going on around you.
This section leads to the other side of Javits and as you can see is quite difficult to navigate. I did like the “Constantine” poster way in the back. That DC Comics character will be getting his own show soon and I’m excited about that.
Now for some more awesome Cosplayers, here is a lovely Wonder Woman and Supergirl pairing. Thanks girls.
A little “Breaking Bad” Cosplay for you all……”Let’s Cook!”
Sadly I don’t know the cosplay of this inked up lass. Maybe its a video game character.
I promised this Red Skull Cosplay that I would not tell Captain America Cosplays where he was at the convention. I was lying as I am not one for villainy 🙂
Here’s the main character for the film “Big Hero 6” and a couple of its toys that were on sale at the Bandai booth.
The band Coheed and Cambria are always at NYCC and its awesome but they were not here at this time sadly. They are playing a special show in NYC I think tonight actually or tomorrow. I wasn’t sure since I was not attending based on a heavy itinerary of my own.
Here are some awesome statues that I observed, the first being Batman of course and just in case the angle throws you the second is Judge Dredd. Awesome stuff for sure.
Man I remember having a lot of superhero glasses when I was younger and this is a section I need to avoid before I fill my cabinet with them. Good stuff for a Man Cave though for us older types. Don’t you agree?
These lethal ladies all star in some kick you in the butt action movies. If you like that kind of stuff then do some digging around for “Gross Underestimation 2”
So that brings me to the end of the Day One visuals but don’t worry there is SO MUCH more to come as I bring the colorful sights of the 2014 NY Comic Con to your screens. I hope that between the time of our next go round that you will click on some of these website links below to see what these folks are all about. You know they will appreciate the attention. Now I am off to the Barclay Center to see the mighty Judas Priest do a concert and they have Steel Panther as support which should be double exciting. It’s been a few years since I have seen Priest and I have never, ever been to the Barclay’s Center before so I am stoked. No rest for this Metal Media Maestro that is for sure. See you tomorrow with another installment. If you want to see the Judas Priest concert review and photos just click HERE.
