I have to admit that I was raring to go for the second day session of NY Comic Con and perhaps it was partially based on the dose of Music Scribe energy that was infused into me by seeing two amazing KISS appearances and the fact that the first day is not a super long one anyway. Yet here I was heading down to the Javits and talking to those around me as we plotted and planned for the adventure. My plan would be for some serious exploration today and get a lot out of the way since the Saturday session is always mayhem, and as I wandered closer, I met a charming Elektra Cosplayer. Nice girl who did a fine job on her outfit and even had a pair of Sai with her. My other plan was to get a lot of Instagram shots today and if I did not mention I was doing this in yesterdays summation I apologize. Let’s get rocking.

This lovely lass was showcasing her alien friend and something called “Abduction Wine”. Its an unearthly vintage I am sure but there were no samples offered which I guess was okay since it was only about 10:00am……

I don’t think these two conventioneers were dressed up as anything but they were friendly and made their way into my photographic presentation.

One has to admire the coolness of a Mom and her daughter hitting the Comic Con in Cosplay. The daughter is on the left and dressed in Finn from Adventure Time cosplay while Mom appears to be doing a cosplay of Silk Spectre from The Watchmen. You go girls.

Here’s the Rawrs booth of cooler than cool shirts and stuff. We met them last year or perhaps the one before. Either way, it was so nice to see them again.

“Conjunction Junction what’s your function?” Hey I will give five dollars to whomever answers that in one second (oops, too late, sorry and maybe next time). I sang the song for a moment with this charming Cosplayer who was not only dressed to coordinate sentences but also give us a quick tour of the Mimoco booth, home of the mighty Mimobots.

I love me some Mimobots and am so glad that they have not yet made any that feature KISS as I would have some purchasing to do if they did that. They do make a ton of super-hero ones and assorted Star Wars, so perhaps a Darth Vader one is in my future.

Here is an interesting line of plush figures, the “I Heart Guts” line. Really unique.

Here is the Monster Island booth. They have a specific creature that they sell among other things.

This next cosplayer had done an awesome job but I could not properly say the character she said she was and of course in my haste to observe the Con around me, I neglected to write it down. Grrrr.

It’s always great to see Howie Noeldechen and his Tara Normal character property. She is a paranormal investigator in case you were wondering.

This stuff was cute which makes sense that it is referred to as “The Art Of Cute”. They have a lot of neat animal hoodies and cosplay things that a wide variety of Con goer would enjoy.

I tread carefully with this next chap, the one and only Cobra Commander and he was out for blood.

Sometimes the Cosplay just makes me shake my head, like in the case of this very clever Batman and his friend

And at other times even though I realize it is pretend, it creeps me the eff out. Have you ever seen this Slender Man chap? Jeepers creepers what a spooky thing this guy is. Even looking at the photos I am shuddering a little bit.

Fortunately depictions of Deadpool like this one below clear up the visions of fright and make you bust a gut laughing.

Driving that train, high on cocaine, Casey Jones you better watch your speed. Oh wait, that is the incorrect Casey Jones as this one calls to mind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles….

Geeks need love to I have always said, and now we have Fandom Dating to help us all along in the quest. This is an interesting proposition for sure. No I did not fill out a profile card before you ask me. I did think this cool though.

Of course I did try to give Cupid one of my cards but she didn’t seem to have a place to put it and led me to believe there was an arrow with my name on it. Somehow I did not take this as a good thing.

Here are some figures by Dudebox. These are quirky looking vinyl figures. I see a lot of this kind of stuff at Toy Fair. It does have an audience and look cool on a desk.

Sadly I did not know who these folks were supposed to be. If you know tell me 🙂 That happens every once in awhile at a convention this sized.
Of course I immediately recognized the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They had a sewer set up for them to wander through as fans and at the end you could get a photo op. I just took the photo of the gang. I loved this original comic series by Eastman and Laird.

The representatives at the Age Of Wushu booth were very nice so we kept adding their photos to our adventures since they had different people at the booth. I did not have time to play the game but it sounded interesting.

Here are a couple more of the New Gen characters. They look fantastic in real life. Those are costumes right? The super mean looking chap is the nefarious Deadalus.

Here is a quick glimpse at some stuff at the Evil Ink Press booth. I’ve presented them in the photos about the Con before. That’s a company whose key creative force is one Claudio Sanchez.

You might remember him from his band, you know that little group called Coheed and Cambria…..

I was not sure who these ladies were supposed to be.

This deadly Poison Ivy cosplayer was actually from Spike TV’s All Access Weekly. Its a site dedicated to that stuff which we enjoy quite a bit. Nerd things. there I said it. No hate of course I am one of you.

Kevin Smith fans will want to toke it up in honor of these ladies fantastic Cosplay of Bluntman and Chronic. The alter egos of Jay and Silent Bob.

Here is a glimpse of the Image Comics pavilion….

The Image pavilion had hordes of “The Walking Dead” books along with the brand new compendium. I have to get myself copies of those since I am not getting into hunting down original issues now that the show is the blockbuster that it is.

I was randomly wandering at this point and snagged a couple of more shots of the awesome New Gen characters who were at the booth. Here is Gabriel and Gazelle….

There was a new video game coming out in the next few months called “Injustice Gods Among Us” and it is said to be done by the Mortal Kombat people and puts our favorite DC Universe heroes into a life or death situation.

An unmasked Batgirl, a cool Black Canary and their friend were met at the video game showcasing. Thanks for posing ladies. Rock on.

I guess this is the Joke-her and her assistant in crime

A sales pitch was found for numerous books at every turn, this one for “Grey”

You gotta love this couple of Marvel-ous heroes

A new friend in what reminded me of Wonder Woman underoos was at the J&J Collectibles.

These girls were repping something called “Tales Of Isolation”.

These three were having fun and Cosplaying all different mythos

Here are some more fans in cool duds.

This next Cosplayer took time out of his busy DJ schedule to attend.

Here is the sales force for Brute Force Leather. They had some intense stuff and she promised if I returned that I might just be treated to see that killer corset in play. Oh my….

Some Batman rogues and I imagine a Batwoman Cosplay as well

These two Cosplayers rocked. I enjoyed talking to them when we had time for that.

You know we love the folks at Vampire Freaks and all their spooky supplies. Here is a glimpse of their booth.

There’s a song by the band Chicago that sings “only the beginning” and while its not a Metal track, it sure applies to our continuing along with the coverage of the Comic Con. Day Two has a few more chapters before we head into Day Three which I am sure you will enjoy just as much. Stay tuned and until we get that post online please click some of the links for the people and places that were discussed in this chapter.
