PiercingMetal Celebrates 5th Anniversary On Instagram

instagram, instagram logo, social media logos

Greetings my Metal and Geek-minded friends, I just wanted to take a minute out of the regularly scheduled presentations to let you know that as of the other day, the PiercingMetal branding has been using the Instagram photo-sharing social media platform for five years. It’s been a relatively cool ride so far and given me a place to let loose with more photography from the assorted conventions and of course some mind-crushing Metal shows and more. I began using this network for “The Chronicles” website first and then adopted it for PiercingMetal and as you might recall got stuck with the username of “PiercingMetalNYC” as opposed to the standard PiercingMetal. That ID is being squatted on for some reason and does not respond to inquiries about my taking it over. Too bad as I would have sent that party a bunch of CD’s for their trouble. At first I thought I might have used a different email address to sign up but nothing comes back to me on “reset password” which means someone else has it. There are no photos, no following or followers so its just being squatted on which does suck since its my trademarked brand. If I can offer any advise to those doing similar stuff to myself, make sure you have your own distinct brand identity on all the networks even if you barely plan on using them since it protects you. So moving on, I did place a photo from around the actual anniversary date and shared it with you below. This is from the recent show at Madison Square Garden by the Scorpions who are always excellent in concert. This was taken with the real rig and shared to social which is why its on the Instagram account.

So despite this account being started some months after the one for Piercing Ken, there are a LOT more photos here than on the other profile. As you can see we are already in the thousands and that’s because I tend to go a bit overboard at events like the New York Comic Con and Toy Fair conventions. I just love showcasing and spotlighting the things that I see around me and think that you all will enjoy them too. It’s a little more work to put that many images up but I don’t mind since this is a fun avenue to share the work on. You’ll notice that I don’t do a whole lot of selfies here either but I should be representing myself more than I do. It’s just not going to be as much as some other people I know who are too out of hand with it. Believe me while some might care about a gym photo or two, no one really needs to find and endless stream of them because that gets boring. I think this network is best used to showcase the fun world that we live in more than anything else. Now for nostalgia sake I am once again sharing our very first Instagram post down below which is the marquee at the Beacon Theatre from when the band Nightwish was playing and had Kamelot along for the ride. I just loved that show and the good friends that it brought together.

Now before I wrap this little anniversary of social media usage up, I want to direct you over to the post I made over on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” about their own 5th year on this network. Though I am not sure who in the PiercingMetal readership sees those posts I know there are a few of you who support both sites and that makes me all the more appreciative of your time spent. That post can be found HERE and by all means if you like what that profile posts we’d love to have you following along there as well as here. Remember, the way this works is the more followers the better and the more likes of images makes your engagement higher. I’m told that some squirrelly practices are to purchase followers to be more impressive but that’s a load of bull for me. If you’re following us for some time thanks very much and if you’re new to us then please scroll through the history and relive it. See you next time and thanks for reading. Now back to the Metal and Geek stuff. Oh before I forget, while we don’t follow a lot of accounts being an online magazine and all, we do like-bomb those who come and follow us. So you can chime in down in the comments and let us know your Instagram profile so it can be perused. You can even tell me what its all about. Thanks Friends.
