At this point in time the Instagram photo-sharing social network isn’t anything new at all and it seems as though everyone is using it and having a good time. I talked about this network months ago in one of my PiercingMetal social media posts and at the time the website didn’t even have an account because you couldn’t use this with Android devices. It was only for the iPhone but they fortunately gave in to our enduser demands and gave us a version. When this was able to be done, I created a profile but did it for my other website “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” since I wasn’t sure just how I wanted to approach this particular network. I posted about it over there and you can check that out by clicking HERE. After some months of using it I realized how I could use it to help the cause of the PiercingMetal website and can happily announce that we are now using Instagram for this website as well. My first photo comes from last night’s Nightwish show at the Beacon Theatre and its very simply a shot of the marquee that announces their performance with the band Kamelot as support. To say this show was excellent is an understatement but more on that is for a different post.
Now you might notice that I could NOT secure the simple PiercingMetal branding on this network despite trying. That led me to be stuck on this as “PiercingMetalNYC”. I’m not happy about that at all but since we are in New York City it applies and I will just type the word “PiercingMetal” into every post somehow. I admit that I found it weird to not get this username since its rather unique. Since I’ve been using this for the other side of the creative fence I now have a better grasp on what I would like to do with it here. Sure there will be Heavy Metal greats showcased whenever possible but I am not sure what kinds of photos those will be. I will definitely add a lot of marquee visuals since I like how they present here and since I am also going to the New York Comic Con next month I will surely be using Instagram to help further the PiercingMetal cause. I’ve been a lifelong comic book fan but this upcoming convention will only be my third time attending the event. With all the cosplay that gets done at NYCC I should have a stockpiled account very, very soon. Maybe I will even do a bunch of Metal themed “Selfies” with band members or people I know from the scene to make this a more personal side of the PiercingMetal site process. What do you think I should do?
For those still waivering on joining this one let me repeat myself from the other posts closing. The Instagram network is fairly simple. You upload a photo you’ve taken with your mobile and you post some information about it and hopefully people find it, follow you and like the stuff that you share. I’m doing pretty good on followers for the Piercing Ken account but now its up to the Metal Legions to show them how its done. We’d love your support on this newness to the creativity and I will be looking to post as often as possible in addition to the other stuff that I have to do on a daily basis. Hopefully I don’t get confused and post a Piercing Ken thing on PiercingMetal and vice versa but if that happens it doesn’t matter since each of the accounts is maintained by me and is still our work. For those readers who also like what they see on the Piercing Ken profile, you’re most welcome to lend us some love there too. I am thinking that the more followers you have the better it is overall. Thanks for reading.
