Keeping up with the massive touring efforts that get announced almost daily if not more so, here is the latest statement by the Jamtastic band Phish who will be doing a summer residency at the famed Madison Square Garden. Check out the bands statement and the dates below. I’ll toss in some thoughts at the close.
The Band Statement:
We’re excited to announce The Baker’s Dozen, a 13-night run at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, beginning Friday, July 21 through Sunday, August 6. The Baker’s Dozen brings the band’s total performances at The Garden to 52 in the years since their December of 1994 venue debut.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: So I’ve never ever seen Phish in concert but a lot of my friends have and are diehards and they will often hit one, two or even three of their performances when they come through town. That’s probably my main reason for my taking a moment to scribble this up for your awareness. The second it’s because it’s a NYC Residency and we keep that Events Calendar for you to peruse with our regions happenings and that serves you better when its stockpiled to the brim. Now regarding Phish, of course I’ve seen some videos online and actually even heard some exemplary “tribute” shows that had been done over the years. These same friends had recordings from assorted trading forays. My favorite of them had to be “Dark Side Of The Moon” which I guess was from a New Year’s Eve performance since they were prone to do that sort of thing. I’m hoping to finally catch them at some point during this run and with 13 shows to choose from that should be entirely possible. What do you readers think about this tour run? Will you be heading to NYC if you are from parts further away or will you be giving the band righteous levels of sh*t for not doing a proper full national tour this year? Let me know in the comments section below.
