Gigaton is available for pre-order now at The first single, “Dance of the Clairvoyants”, will be released in the coming weeks.

“Making this record was a long journey,” explains Mike McCready. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”

Gigaton’s cover features Canadian photographer, filmmaker, and marine biologist Paul Nicklen’s photo “Ice Waterfall.” Taken in Svalbard, Norway, this image features the Nordaustlandet ice cap gushing high volumes of meltwater.

In support of Gigaton, Pearl Jam will embark on their first leg of North American tour dates in March and April. The 16-date tour kicks-off on March 18 in Toronto and wraps with a two-date stint in Oakland April 18-19.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: It’s always a great bit of news when Pearl Jam announces a tour and I am constantly amused that despite how long I’ve been listening to the band that I’ve never ever seen them in concert before. Now a lot of people say they’ve been listening since “back in the day”, but I am one of the originals my friends and remember the time when a College DJ I helped out opened the mail and said “this one’s called Pearl Jam”. We were both immediately hooked and were also fans of the band Mother Love Bone where some of the members had come from but I digress. It’s my hope to finally catch them with their MSG show in March so let’s see what can be worked out in terms of ticketing or even the means to cover them. As I close up this really busy and news filled Monday I wonder what you think about the tour and if you’ve seen the band before. If so, how many times have you clocked in and what was the furthest you’ve travelled to do so. Chime in down below in the comments section. See you again soon with more coolness as 2020 gets into full on mode.
