Greetings my fellow Starfleet cadets, I am back once more to discuss the soon to be premiering series “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”. Some of you might recall that this topic was touched upon back in March with the Teaser Trailer clip (seen HERE if you missed it) and now its time to check out the Official Trailer. Let’s boldly go and check it out together (sorry, I couldn’t resist). Enjoy.

The Premise: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds follows Captain Christopher Pike and the crew of the starship USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) in the 23rd century as they explore new worlds throughout the galaxy in the decade before Star Trek: The Original Series. It has a contemporary take on that series’ episodic storytelling and 1960s designs, and features the following narration from Mount during each episode’s opening credits (similarly to the opening narrations in The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation):

Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.

The Cast and Characters:

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Though I was greatly intrigued by the full on trailer, I don’t currently subscribe to Paramount+. The prices of my Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max have all been keeping my streaming disposable income busy on top of an overpriced Spectrum bill. As much as I love the “Star Trek” franchise, I am falling far behind because these shows are on other networks. Maybe when this finishes I will subscribe and catch up everything I’ve missed. What about you readers? Are you subscribing to Paramount+ at all and if so are you enjoying the programming that they are delivering? Chime in down below if you have something topical to add to the mix. See you next time and please stay safe out there.
