CBS All Access is gone and in its place stands Paramount+ which essentially has expanded upon the original idea and gives the fans of properties like “Star Trek” a single place to enjoy every single show ever produced and beyond. Last year, we got the debut of “Star Trek: Picard” and I’ve gotta say that it was pretty cool. Today, this new network is celebrating what they are calling “First Contact Day” as its the 25th Anniversary of the film “Star Trek: First Contact” and as a part of the whole lotta Trekkie love we are getting a teaser clip for Season Two of “Star Trek: Picard”. Take a look down below.

The S1 Premise: The series is set 20 years after Jean-Luc Picard’s last appearance in Star Trek: Nemesis (2002), and finds the character deeply affected by the destruction of Romulus as depicted in the film Star Trek.

The Cast and Characters:
Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard
Alison Pill as Agnes Jurati
Isa Briones as Soji Asha
Evan Evagora as Elnor
Michelle Hurd as Raffi Musiker
Santiago Cabrera as Cristobal “Chris” Rios
Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine
Orla Brady as Laris
Brent Spiner as Altan Inigo Soong
Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan
John de Lancie as Q

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Since I was not a regular subscriber to the at the time known as CBS All Access service, I didn’t get to see “Star Trek: Picard” straight away but when they offered a free month I jumped at the chance and really enjoyed the series. I grew up watching the reruns of the Original Series and really liked much of the Next Generation one but never binge watched it in full. It was cool to see some characters from that era returning to continue the story of Jean-Luc Picard. Sadly I didn’t watch more than an episode or two of “Star Trek: Discovery” before the trial was over and I didn’t renew. As you all know by now, CBS All Access became Paramount+ and continues to feature new, original Star Trek properties so if you want to keep up with them all you’ll need to sign up. I’d be interested in seeing where they take Picard with the next season but we have until 2022 to see what happens. It seems like Q is returning so that could be interesting as well. What do you readers think? Did you try Paramount+ and watch any of these offerings? Chime in down below with your thoughts and know that I will be keeping tabs on this and similar shows coming to the service for our Pop Culture narratives. See you soon.
