Paramount Pictures Presents: “Annihilation” Official Trailer (2018)

Closer and closer the holidays approach so why not keep sharing the revealed trailers for some of the spookier and Science Fiction features that will be heading our way in 2018. I’ve been doing my best to maintain course on the television and movie items in terms of the films that our demographic enjoys the most. Don’t worry I will not be broadcasting any Rom-Coms here unless they feature people in spandex tights from another galaxy. That said here is an upcoming Science Fiction thriller called “Annihilation”, it stars Natalie Portman and others so check it out.

The Plot: A group of soldiers enters an environmental disaster zone and only one comes back out alive, though he is grievously injured. In an attempt to save his life, his wife Lena, a biologist, volunteers for a second expedition into the zone to figure out what happened to him. (thanks Wiki).

The Cast:
Natalie Portman as Lena, the Biologist.
Jennifer Jason Leigh as the Psychologist
Gina Rodriguez as Anya Thorensen, the Anthropologist.
Tessa Thompson as the Surveyor
Tuva Novotny as the Linguist
Oscar Isaac as Lena’s husband
David Gyasi
Sonoya Mizuno
Benedict Wong

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Before I get into too much on this one I had to say that I got a kick out of both Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson being in this since they each appeared in “Thor” films over the years (Jane Foster and Valkyrie for those not following the program). Oscar Isaac is known to many as not only Poe Dameron from the recent “Star Wars” films but also as the dread Apocalypse from the most recent X-Men team feature. Overall this one seems interesting to me and looks like it brings some “Jurassic Park” and “Alien” together along with maybe even a little “Kong Skull Island” based on the fantastic creatures that were observed. I think it might be a fun way to spend the afternoon in the cinema if you head out to see it there. Based on its 2/23/18 opening, I might be a little too hectic as the Toy Fair will have just ended and will hold some demands on my creative plate. I can wait until the pay channels unless friends cite it as blowing their minds, as then I will surely go. What did you think of this trailer? Will you mark it down as something to see? Chime in down below.
