PiercingMetal Thoughts: Having supported Overkill in concert for as long as I can remember, I have to say that I am eager to share their adventures but now equally disappointed that there is not a single NYC date on this run. Over the years I’ve seen them at places like B.B. King Blues Club (shuttered), Playstation Theater (closing in two weeks), Stage 48 (no longer booking Metal) and Irving Plaza (under renovation) but despite these music scene changes we still have the refurbished Webster Hall and Terminal 5 (where I saw them with Symphony X not too long ago). Can it be that my city no longer wants live Heavy Metal shows to take place in her metropolitan regions? I am starting to think so but I digress. Should I be hopeful for additional dates to rectify the oversight? One can only guess at this point. I’ve never seen Exhorder or Hydraform so I’d be interested in seeing what they are all about should I end up making it out to NJ. Overkill remain a band to be seen on the concert stage as they’ve not revamped their classic, and most crushing sound at all and will always deliver a set that will wreck your neck. You readers can let me know what you think about this tour down in the comments section below. I will see you soon with more as the emails have been flowing in with announcements bright and early.
