“Dead or alive, you’re coming with me!” was what he said back in 1987 during the original “Robocop” film, and today marks his return to the big screen in a new film that reboots his origin and potential missions. Check out the poster below.
The premise comes care of the film’s Wikipedia entry and says “In 2028, multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy – a loving husband, father, and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured by a car-bomb in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.”
I really enjoyed the first Robocop film and having seen the trailers for this one feel that it might work for fans of this kind of action flick. Of course part of me is tiring from all the reboots. It seems that every film is getting one these days. Anyway, I’m still waffling on whether or not I see it in the cinema or just wait until it hits one of the PPV channels or the HBO/Netflix provisions that I already subscribe to. What are your thoughts on the film? Will you see it? Check out the cast rundown below…

I’ve embedded some relevant links to the mythos below. In addition to the original films there was also a comic book title.
I have no interest in this or most remake’s. The reviews on this were terrible, not that that matters, but my bias already exists. The people in charge of the Hollywood studios grew up in the 80’s and now they want to do all these remakes because they have no ideas of their own. Or so it would seem.
