We are only a few short days away from the return of The Big G to the theaters of the world with “Godzilla: King Of The Monsters” and if you haven’t seen the Final Trailer or the new Official Godzilla Website yet, just click those highlighted texts to be on point. As you might have expected, a film such as this one will lead to a number of awesome toys so let’s take a look at a bunch of the “Godzilla: King Of The Monsters” items that are on shelves now from the folks at Jakks Pacific.
The most focused of our readers and Social Networking followers have already seen a bunch of these items from our visit to the 2019 Toy Fair during our Jakks Pacific appointment and I loved so many of their items and am glad that you can purchase them now for your own collections.
Starting off is the Electronic Godzilla Mask. This is aimed at a younger audience of course and will assist their transformation into the miniature King Of The Monsters. It makes a number of sounds including the classic roar. If you have a younger relative this is an ideal gift and also if you occasionally feel like annoying your co-workers this might do the trick.
Continuing on are the “Battlesets” and these are cool because you get two monsters in each package along with a small cardboard diorama piece for them to duke it out in front of and of course destroy. The three sets so far available feature “Godzilla and King Ghidorah”, “Godzilla and Mothra” and “Godzilla and Rodan”. I’ve posted two out of package images along with what they look like in the package. They look wonderful in the package and are something that I see myself purchasing to stand on a shelf somewhere because that is just what I do these days. They are articulated but not at as many points as a larger figure would be.
These next two figures are ones that I liked the most of the whole batch based on their larger scale size but not too big. When I downloaded the press information from the server I didn’t see files for the 6″ Godzilla or Mothra so perhaps they will follow the opening of the film. Either way, these figures each include a small building to demolish and are nicely sized and have more points of articulation than the smaller figures just showcased. Take a look at two out of package images and the ones with them in the colorful box. To say that I want to get my hands on these particular figures would be an understatement. Based on what I saw on Amazon.com (links below BTW) these are around $40 or more each.
Jakks Pacific has also released two larger sized “Godzilla: King Of The Monsters” figures with one being 12″ and the other at 24″; Speaking personally for me, I don’t see myself investigating these unless I dig out my classic “Shogun Warriors” mega-figures that I’ve had in a box for a few decades. They could go head to head with the larger Godzilla and even the one that was issued for that line. There is some articulation and based on their size they are priced accordingly.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Kudos to Jakks Pacific for these wonderful figures. Perhaps I will do some kind of video once I get my hands on them and post that to my Official YouTube Channel. Those unboxing clips look like fun so let’s see what happens in terms of acquiring and finding time to do something like that. What do you fans of the Godzilla franchise think about this stuff? Also, I wonder if you will be seeing it in the theater nice and early. I wanted to go on opening day but I will be at the Book Expo that day so have to wait until the following week. Feel free to let me know what you think down below in the comments section. See you next time.
