2017 marks the year of the great return of Norwegian symphonic black metal giants, DIMMU BORGIR. The band will release their highly-anticipated double-DVD, Forces Of The Northern Night, on April 28th via Nuclear Blast Records. Available in different formats, the release will contain two live rituals: Their legendary concert in Oslo, showing DIMMU BORGIR on stage with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a bombastic choir as well as the entire performance at Wacken Open Air with almost 100 musicians in action from the Czech National Symphonic Orchestra.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As a reminder, this tune originally hailed from the bands “Abrahadabra” album and features singer Agnete Kjølsrud from the band Djerv (who I am absolutely clueless about at this time). This particular clip hails from the Oslo concert and since I’ll be offering up a full-on review of the DVD release when I get my hands on it I will simply leave this review notation as “FANTASTIC”. I’ve long felt that the music of Dimmu Borgir was perfect for a live orchestrated performance and I’m so excited that they have a couple of different full shows for fans to enjoy. Kudos to the Norwegian Radio Orchestra on this one and The release comes at the end of April, so get thee ordering care of the Amazon.com link below and stay tuned for the review when I get mine.
